Be careful what you wish for you anti-Semitic 'concerned netizens'. The media should bear some responsibility here as well.

Thais should be careful what they wish for, they never stop complaining about one nationality or the other, they can all walk away from Thailand

Most Thais could not even move between towns/cities never mind moving to another country.

So they themselves are part of the greedy locals that are selling land for obscene prices

Totally incorrect

They had the land for 20 years and never thought of developing it other than building a house later when retirement came around, as back then it was a dream location.

Now spoilt to the point of being almost unsustainable, they decided it wasn't the quiet location to live as it once was.

The neighbour who has lived there all their lives bought the land at a reasonable price so that they could extend their boundary and stop encroachment by developers.

They have no desire to build on the land.

Garbage.

Thais handled Covid better than most.
I have never heard them complain about us English gentlemen, nothing but praise and high regard.

To suggest the backlash against poor Israeli behavior is Muslim-based and specifically anti-Semitic is asinine.

Common tactic they use.

I dont limit myself, I deprive others of my greatness.

Giving of my time and money is my choice, no loss or gain to anyone else matters. Its all about me. I wouldnt want to be in a place that didnt welcome me anyway. Im sure I can find a place to take me.

If I check hotel's prices, it seems to be more expensive than what it used to be for march and april, so there's still enough tourists looking for rooms to stay.

Don't worry. I will be there in June for 1 hour before driving on. You wrecked the joint!

Did you say joint? I’ll take a hit…

It is not “anti-Semitic” to dislike Israel and its people.

It is indeed Anti semitic to dislike Jews as a whole .

If you hate Jews, then that is the definition of being Anti semitic

Antarctica?

If only they'd stay out of Palestine too. 🙂

They started complaining about how bad the tourism was too loud, drunks everywhere and too many ruined the atmosphere. Well they got what they wanted plus a bit for all the hype about it in the news. Unfortunately this is going to happen in more places in Thailand. They want the numbers, but getting them the wrong way. There’s been more fighting, robbery, group attacks, smear campaigns on different tourists, bus accidents, boat accidents, threats of taxes, scams, etc. etc.

Thailand was a very relaxed, cheap, friendly and welcoming country and unfortunately they keep shooting themselves in the foot so much now that people are deciding to go to other places that are more welcoming to tourists and retirees. It really used to be the Land of Smiles. You can still find a few places here that seem to genuinely enjoy foreign tourists and not just their wallets, but Thailand has done this to themselves and only they can fix it.

I wouldn't bother with Malaysia, honestly. The only thing there that's better than Thailand is they do not have the alcohol prohibition hours. The intra-city rail network is comparable to BKK's too. Some say it's better, but it really depends on where you want to go. But last-mile connection is crap. At least you have the motorcys in BKK that can complete the last one km or so of your journey to your destination If you think taxis in BKK are bad, those in KUL are worse! At least in BKK the ones you flag down still use the meter. In KUL? Forget it. Also, most taxis in BKK use new Toyota Corollas. The ones in KUL are old, beat-up local cars that reek and the seat cushions have the thickness of zero. There are some that use newer cars and they double as Grab/Bolt rides, so these aren't too bad. Their non-halal (especially Chinese) food is good, but you'd need a local to take you to the good ones, else you'll end up in some tourist traps. In other words, it is not that easy to chance upon good food as you would in Thailand. The service attitude in Malaysia is also below par. There is a lack of 'service mind', for want of a better term. I know some of us have complained about deteriorating service levels here in BKK and Thailand, but it's still better than Malaysia/KUL. As for their tourist attractions, well there are a few, but upkeep and maintenance is again, below par, if any. There are some great locales, but are let down by poor maintenance and management. And my pet peeve - toilet manners. There's none. Their public toilets reek, and I'm talking about those at swanky shopping centres ala EmQuartier/Paragon. I travel there often, so I'm not simply bashing.

And the food is better.. Often cheaper. Wine is definitely cheaper. Everyone is friendly and speaks English.  The place is definitely more tidy, very few stray dogs and they stop at traffic lights, etc.

Pai, best to be avoided. More like it. A few came,  went back and told the truth to their citizens.

The best thing that ever happened to Pai. Israeli tourists are some of the worst on planet.

You forgot the Brits and Aussie that are involved in most incidents
