Is there a limit on how many tourist e-visa you can apply in a calendar year? At the Thai embassy where I live. The last time I got a single tourist visa approved was less than one year ago. Can I apply again for another tourist e-visa? Will the Thai embassy approve another tourist visa again? This is my concern

Each embassy gets to decide their own policy on this.  But not likely to have any issues if they are spaced out at least 3-4 months apart.

Prior to e-Visa when the visas were obtained in person at the various consulates/embassies some places would issue only certain number.

eg No more that 2 from that particular consulate.

 

Apart from that, entry to Thailand via air always has the risk of refusal if pp shows basically continuous stay in Thailand.

People can be refused entry with a tourist visa.

 

Unmarried (to Thai) and under 50yr old now have visa options such as DTV.

Why keep starting threads that you are aware of the answer/options.

 If someone stay in Thailand less than 6 months a year, I don't think he would have a problem. And it doesn't make sense if someone can only get 1 tourist visa and not more. Why couldn't re-apply one time a year for example? And fly with a visa is always better than flying without

Currently visa exempt is 60 days that can be extended by 30.

One plan for 6 month stay is ...

Enter Thailand via air with e-Visa (tourist) do one extension.

Next border bounce with minivan agent to eg Cambodia. Then obtain an extension.

60+30+60+30 = 6 months.

Not rocket science.

That's exactly what I meant to say 

How many times you apply = up to you.

How many times the embassy will actually grant a visa = up to them.

 

Pay your fee and take your chances. No refunds. 

When I arrived in Phuket on this trip on a 60 day tourist visa the immigration guy had a longer look at the passport than normal. I had 2 60 day trips in 2024 and this trip is 5 weeks. I would assume I will still be ok to say come back in July for another 2 months but I am wondering if there is a guide to when they'll say enough with the tourist visas and I need a different type. This is without needing to go to an embassy so potentially off topic.

I had to look that up - I don't apply for a visa and get 60 days with an option for a further 30. From Australia.

As for visa exempt flying  from Oz (Jetstar?) ...did airline ask for onward flight?

Thanks. I did fly Jetstar and had a return ticket so it wasn't an issue.

There is no guide. They keep it ambiguous, so people pay for their "safe entry" program via their agent-partners, out of fear of denied-entry - versus knowing published-rules, and simply following those. 

 

I would say it is very unlikely you would be denied, if you only had 2 60-day stays in 2024, and this is your first trip in 2025 (under 60-days), and the 2nd trip/entry this year is 2+ months after you leave from this visit.

 

Just in case, have 20K baht worth of cash (can be in another currency), a flight out within 60-days to show (or 30, if they change-back to 30-days before that trip), and proof of where you will stay in Thailand.  They are unlikely to ask for any of this, but good to have as backup.

My possible concern was that my first trip in 2024 was in late May so if I go in July it will be a total of 7 months and a week in Thailand in about 16 months - based on last year I might then go again for 2 months late in 2025 so could be pushing the boundaries. But I'll have the cash and return ticket so hopefully that lowers the risk a bit. Thanks.

If it were me, I'd buy safe-entry, if that much - even if the "odds" of denied-entry were low.  This is the lowest quote on it I've seen:
