The decision on determining whether the information is classified ultimately lies with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth

That he didn't treat this information as classified is just further proof of his incompetence.

“These are indeed highly detailed operational plans for war,” said one of the former officials, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the issue’s sensitivity. “Twenty-five years, I have never known them not to be classified. And usually this operational level of detail is further restricted to those with a need-to-know.”

More proof that it should have been classified:

Exactly nobody scares leftists and socialists more than a strong masculine War veteran who loves his country. Keep going Pete you're giving us a great military and you're making the lunatics heads explode.

The Socialists and America haters and depraved Trans organizations hate pete. This topic is like a medal of honor.

I'd vote for him for president down the line. He's an honorable man, served his country, well-educated, patriotic, well spoken, in great physical shape, lovely family and children, and example of the type of American man that has done such fabulous Deeds for the world.

Wher is the place to vote he shouldn't have been given the job in the first place!

I think you are right that this won't be his last or worst screwup.

What cracks me up are all the reporters and politicos saying "Well he said he has quit drinking".

How freaking naive can you be.

As the town drunk said "It's easy to quit drinking, I've done it dozens of times".

All of the government officials should be arrested and jailed. These are not firing offenses, they are felony criminal offenses.

Do you experience any shunting of peripheral blood flow when you think about him?

It's ok, don't be ashamed.

Maybe ask them:

Israeli officials furious that Signal group chat exposed intelligence, sources say

Updated on: March 28, 2025 / 7:37 PM EDT / CBS News

Washington — Israeli officials are furious over the Signal chat leak involving senior Trump administration officials because it included sensitive intelligence Israel provided to the U.S. from a human intelligence source in Yemen, CBS News has learned.

While the Signal chat messages published by Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic this week may not have compromised the effectiveness of the airstrike, given the publication's restraint on releasing the information, it did compromise a human source who provided the intelligence to the Israelis, who then provided it to the U.S. for targeting, a senior American intelligence official and a source with knowledge of the Israelis' ire told CBS News. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive national security matters.

I assume you mean "Do you get an erection due to Homosexual yearnings, and you should come out of the closet". Whats the matter, too COWARDLY to write that? Instead, so you get all 3rd grade boys bathroom sniggly and make giggly implications, which clearly says more about you than me..

Typical of your lot.

Ergo, "they" does not exist.

Does anyone beleive anonymous sources from CBS news?

Personally what worries me (and I leave it to others to decide whether I am a leftist or socialist, I certainly don't identify as such) is the man in charge of the most powerful military in the world being a drunken incompetent buffoon capable of making such an obvious and egregious security breach - one which put the lives of those he is in charge of at even greater risk.

As for being a strong masculine war veteran, didn't he have to get his mum to say that he promised not to be a drunken tosser - sorry I meant reformed character - if he was confirmed?

Gloves off, he is a pretty buckshee junior reserve officer with a loose mouth who came to prominence on a weekend TV programme.

Now as to resignation or being sacked he will not go of course. He has lied vehemently and his boss has doubled down on those lies.

That is just ludicrous. Neither Hegseth nor 99% of the others bear any responsibility for inviting the snitch journalist.

They did not even know he was on the call.

He should be fired just for using Signal for sending sensitive information.  Whether or not the journalist was added is irrelevant to his misconduct.

He is incompetent

That he is responsible for the alleged security breach.

You cant. You will just spew propaganda from the mouth of your masters, then flame me, libel some more then leave some sad and confused emojis

What if the so called journalist hacked in? Or was let in by one of his fellow anti trumpers.

When did Signal start being used by the US government.?

But you see that wouldn't be funny.

As humorless as you are, you can't see that someone who likes to present as a big, tough courageous (not cowardly) macho guy like you having an obvious sexual attraction to a "strong masculine War veteran who loves his country" is funny.

That wouldn't be surprising.  Any third party app would be super easy for anyone to hack with just one rouge employee, and why it should never be used for sensitive information.  Surely the Russians and Chinese already read everything there.

That's a question for your dear leader.

There ya go Peeps the modern left. This exchange speaks for itself, get your last word in Mr. Homophobia, Im sure it will reinforce your hypocrisy and puerility.

Drunk: he has something of a track record...

Incompetent, responsible for the alleged security breach: he is the Secretary for Defence, and was actively engaging in discussing classified plans for a forthcoming operation on an unclassified messaging app! That is about as incompetent and irresponsible as it gets.

I don't have any "masters" owe no allegiance to any political movement, British or American. I don't flame or libel you ( where in my post did I even mention you?) I do respond to ridiculous suggestions and frothy mouthed commentary with mockery or sarcasm from time to time, and you often draw such a response - others (if not you) may see some correlation there!

I think that the "sad" and "confused" emojis are pointless and a waste of time, have been on record several times as saying so, and so make a point of not using them.

Anybody who has been on Whatsapp conf calls knows you just trust the organizer to have invited all the correct participants. No mere participant would ever say "let us cancel the call this app is not safe". That is just ludicrous.

"They did not even know he was on the call."

That is the core problem.

Discussing such matters you should know who is listening.
