Trump Admin’s Crackdown on Illegal Immigration: 113,000 Arrests, 100,000+ Deportations

Since President Donald Trump returned to the White House in January, his administration has deported more than 100,000 migrants, fulfilling his campaign promise to take aggressive action on illegal immigration. According to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official, both Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have made 113,000 arrests and carried out “north of” 100,000 deportations in just over two months.

“He’s doing what he was voted in to do. Point blank!” an ICE source told The Post. The administration’s efforts focus on removing illegal migrants, alleged gang members, and suspected terrorists from the country. While it remains unclear how many of those detained have criminal records or where they are being deported to, sources suggest that a significant portion of deportations are to Mexico.

Upon taking office, Trump wasted no time in implementing strict immigration policies. He immediately declared an emergency at the southern border, deployed thousands of additional troops to reinforce border security, shut down the asylum system for illegal crossers, and launched a nationwide mass deportation initiative. ICE’s detention facilities have reached full capacity, and the agency is now requesting additional funding from Congress to expand the number of available beds to support the ongoing deportation campaign. Within the first 50 days of his administration, ICE had already made 32,000 arrests.

Trump has also taken unprecedented steps to combat transnational criminal organizations. In a controversial move, he invoked the rarely used 18th-century Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan gang members without trial, sending them to a high-security El Salvadoran prison notorious for its harsh conditions. Seventeen alleged members of the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs were transferred to the facility on Sunday night, despite a federal judge’s earlier ruling blocking the use of the wartime law for this purpose.

The impact of these policies is evident at the U.S.-Mexico border, where illegal crossings have dropped to record lows. In March, border agents recorded just 7,000 illegal entries—down an astonishing 94% from the 137,000 crossings reported in March of the previous year under President Joe Biden. February’s numbers were similarly low, with just 8,300 illegal crossings—the smallest figure recorded in at least 25 years.

DHS officials have dubbed this dramatic decline “the Trump effect,” crediting the administration’s tough stance on immigration for the shift. “Illegal entries into the United States are no longer a backdoor way to getting status,” a DHS source stated. According to the source, migrants are now “scared there are consequences,” as everyone caught is prosecuted and serves time.

Most of the remaining illegal border crossings are concentrated in the San Diego and El Paso sectors, but if the trend continues, the U.S. could see the lowest number of illegal migrants since 1968. The Trump administration’s stringent immigration policies have already reshaped the border landscape, and officials suggest that further enforcement measures are on the horizon.

Fantastic job Mr Trump. Can we bang up that lying toad Mayorkas for falsely claiming Biden's border was "secure". Either perjury is a crime or it's not?

The Southern border illegal crossings have dropped dramatically, with good reason. Now if only the UK would do a similar thing?? Alas they seem to be doing the opposite!

I would like to see how these inconciderate people who do not support the rule of law would go if picked up by the Thai Govt, and sent to Myanmar with no questions asked and left there with no support

I think this is a great sign that no court trials are required. Best thing ever for that innocent guy sent to El Salvador is he gets a free holiday on the taxpayer's dime.

Trump doing what he said he would, I guess everyone is frothing on the tariff thread to notice anything else today.

The Dems would not understand this simply because their presidents never do what they promised in their campaigning. Thumbs up for Trump doing the job he was voted to do. Now, let us hope he continues and the Dems cease trying to stop him using the courts as their political machine.

Why should there be a hearing tying up the court system that would delay those who are LEGALLY in the country. The Dems are just trying their best to delay Trump and make him look bad for doing what he promised.

I am pretty sure if you are illegal in Thailand they do not keep you locked up for months or years deciding if you should be kicked out of the country. You are illegal. The enforcement is a part of the rules for being in the US. It is not about laws being broken or not. These people are 100% breaking the rules for their time in the US. They need to go!!!

Amazing the difference a little leadership makes

Too late, whites will be a minority within 10-15 years. All those illegal immigrants over decades have been having children and will out number the original population soon.

You mean the ones that are picked up for overstaying their visas?

Illegals.

Let 'em squeal.

Innocent?

He was a gangbangster but his lawyer convinced a judge that he'd be in danger if sent back to da hood.

shows how ineffectual biden and harris were... they should have done their jobs from the get go

So? If they are US citizens then they are your equals.

What's your problem if the USA reflects some of its origins? The country was not European before  Europeans  came and stole land.

If they had entered Thailand illegally, they would have no valid reason to squeal about getting picked up and deported to another country.

100,000 down and 20 million to go.

I would rather say, 340 million to go.

Obviously, the original experiment has failed and produced 340 million "Americans". 77 million of those can go immediately, but I have not much hope for the rest.

Maybe better to deport them all and start a re-colonization with fresh faces, maybe the second round will go better...

/s as there are people on here on ThaiVisa who would take my sentences as non-satirical truth.

As long as they don't get to vote that's not a problem.

Good news, no, GREAT news. Keep it up till there are NO illegals crossing the border.

Seems you are pulling for the US on all issues except the middle east. A little research on US history in the region would show you why we back israel. It is the main issue that differentiates us from europe

Evil Penevil you missed the point. Many of ICE deportations are of people who have a recognised residence status in the US.If they had due process of law they would not be deported. Thus my Thai analogy!

Citizenship is just paper, means nothing except to the state. Dissolve the US government tomorrow and suddenly your magic piece of paper has no power and is worthless.

Cite your source for that.

Nobody being deported has legal residence in the USA.

They do vote, and they vote against white people. It's baked into the cake at this point Republicans will never win another election again unless they become more like the Democrats.

Trump was an outlier and really got people excited but by next election he goes away and it's back to business as usual where Democrats get 60-70% of the Hispanic vote.

Trump & Elon are probably going to increase legal immigration too from groups like Indians which vote against Republicans.

This is a rare post of yours i disagree with. The democrats are currently a dumpster fire. They would need to change their core beliefs because as it stands they are the party of terrorists and criminals. And the media has lost its power over the country

in my opinion trump wasnt even a very good candidate

They're REALLY trying the patience of minorities with their BS right now but things like DEI and government services are very important to those groups and Democrats are the ones giving that out.

Asians and Indians aren't using services like blacks/hispanics but they still vote majority democrat out of racial solidarity and because the Republicans are nativist which is threatening to new immigrants.

Asians could swing Republican someday maybe given enough time. Already they're being opening discriminated against in universities alongside whites.

Mexicans used to be all democrat and now its split. Regardless of what candidate the democrats put out, they need drastic reform. Since obama they have become increasingly anti american. DEI isnt going to be a thing here anymore, they had better choose a good candidate because its proven now that the media isnt powerful enough to fool the majority

Democrats favors a mixed economy and generally supports a progressive tax system. higher munimum wages, social security, universal healthcare, public education, infrastructure development and clean energy investments. Trump is bringing a chainsaw to wreck all these. I will give him credit for charming and lying to the people and winning the election. 3 months into his Presidency and the country is isolated by close allies and facing an impending recession.
