Panic spread through Chaiyaphum Hospital on the afternoon of 8 April when patients rushed out of the building in confusion, fearing the structure was collapsing. Social media posts quickly circulated, with many speculating that an earthquake had struck, similar to the tremor felt on 28 March.

However, authorities later clarified that the chaos was caused by a psychiatric patient who had become agitated and was throwing objects on the second floor. The noise from the commotion led many patients waiting on the first floor to believe that the building was unstable, prompting them to flee in alarm. Some even shouted that the building was “shaking,” further escalating the situation.

Chalee Buakhao, head of security at the hospital, confirmed that the panic was a result of the actions of a 20-something psychiatric patient who had been brought in by relatives for treatment. The patient became agitated and began throwing items, which created a loud disturbance. The hospital staff swiftly intervened and managed to calm the situation, allowing the patient to be safely contained.

The hospital reassured the public that there was no structural damage to the building and no earthquake had occurred. After the situation was resolved, the staff directed the patients who had fled to return to their waiting areas as normal.

Maybe that patient should go to Pattaya as they are already setting up a team for mental ill foreigners

Oh, I don't know.  Getting out of the way of a crazed psych patient making all that noise is probably a good idea too.  Too many of them seem to have machetes.

Christ.  No wonder half of them are still wearing "covid masks".

Still smog season, so yeah, nothing wrong with a mask and it is a hospital, infection diseases everywhere so if you're a high risk, makes sense also, although I wouldn't bother.

I'd believe you if they didn't seem to wear them more indoors than out.  And I meant generally, rather than specifically in a hospital.

Sensible. A new Covid strain was discovered last week.

Prevention is better than the cure. Safety first.

Thais don’t fret about wearing masks like the Western Karen’s and Kevins
