But I need to let everyone know how important I am.

Yep a sign of insecurity and being crazy. The two loud talks I know are both barking mad.

What happens at times for me is that I am using an ATM and maybe an involved transaction and there is (usually) a woman at the AYM next to me talking so loud on the phone I can barely think.

Do you ever say anything?

Just go sit next to them and put the phone to your ear yelling a conversation as if you are talking to someone.

Then, there are those that sing out loud.  Sit next to them and loudly sing your country national anthem.

Please speak softly on the phone. We don't need to hear you 15m away.

They all have it on speaker these days so you have to hear both sides, I never go out without ear plugs in

I get woken up EVERY morning by the Thai grandma next door screaming at the top of her voice to some child. How can this woman not consider other people?

Old women are truly a curse.

Unless it's your mother of course.

American or French? The French do their socialising in my local Big C supermarket food court. When I pop in for brunch before shopping, I sit as far away from them as possible. I can't see the need to shout when you sitting across a small table from someone.

My pet peeves are going into any store where the stores speakers are blaring with music or announcements.  You can't even think of what you came to buy at that store in the first place.  The second is the sound trucks used to advertise selling of vegetables or those running for political positions.  For the latter, I live on the 19th floor of a condo with a small village 500+ meters away.  The political advertising noise from the sound trucks comes through loud and clear to my balcony.  Would be nice if the authorities took some action to lessen the volume permitted in any of these activities.

Why are construction workers, plumbers, and home builders always shouting at each other.

Is it due mostly to lack of formal education?

Or, is it due to having gone stone deaf after exposure to those grinding machines they are always listening to?
