Karl Rove Guts Donald Trump in Scathing Fox News Interview: ‘In Very Bad Shape’

https://www.thedailybeast.com/karl-rove-guts-donald-trump-in-scathing-fox-news-interview-in-very-bad-shape/

Fox News analyst Karl Rove tore into President Donald Trump, saying the president was in “very bad shape” with the general public after his tariffs upended the economy.

“When it gets to the economy, he is in very bad shape,” Rove said on Fox News’ Journal Editorial Report Saturday. “And it’s not only that he’s in the short term in bad shape, there’s also evidence in the poll that no matter—even if he gets his way on certain things like tariffs, that he’s not good in the long run."

He's like the neighbor who comes in halfway through a remodel job and complains about how it's going to look when it's finished.  As if he has a clue.

Of course there's some turmoil.  That's to be expected when you're dismantling 50 years of horrible trade policy.  And when the other side is accustomed to getting their way for 50 years, they'll screech like banshees.

Naa it comes from folks seeing their retirement going up in smoke from a ignorant fool blowing up the economy it comes from consumers paying more for everything—-if they can find it—- it comes from essentially a tax imposed by trump it comes from the realization that it’s an impediment to competition so the fat cats don’t have to compete it comes from the realization that we pay more the rich pay less…..best stock up on toilet paper!!

That 50 years would include the  period when Clinton was Pres and handed over a budget surplus to Bush who soon squandered it and  turned  it into a deficit.

Is that the same Clinton that signed bank deregulation paving the way for the 2008 crisis ?

To say one's retirement is going up, someone's retirement is going up in smoke at this point, is a little premature.  The marks have been creeping back up.  Remember, the markets also took a dump under Joe Biden.

Stop being a drama queen.

That's not entirely accurate.   The budget surplus was due to the dot-com boom, which went bust in 2000.

It's remarkable that you don't understand the Dems built a government that we can't afford.

It's funny how lefties suddenly hate taxes.

Have you asked yourself how the POTUS has the power to impose tariffs?

He has the power because the spineless GOP maggots in Congress let him get away with it.

Congress has been moving power to the executive branch for some time now.

They did this over the past 50 years.   The current spending levels are 22% of the GDP.  All balanced budgets have one number in common.   Spending is less than 19% of the GDP.

Aha, so through several GOP administrations as well. Got it!

The main drivers are defense, social security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Social Security has run permanent deficits since 2010. Medicare and Medicaid are money pits. You would figure that 15 years later, the Democrats might have taken a stab at dealing with Social Security.

So neither the Dems nor the GOP as agency? OK then.
