New Chinese form of psychological torture rolled out in Thailand

Featured Replies

We all know the Chinese have over 4000 years experience in developing torture and psychological warfare methods. Now they have brought their evil ways to Thailand. The Chinese company Mixue was selling melon ice cream for 15 baht a cone, so delicious you'd sell your mother for it. As of today they pulled the melon ice cream completely!  No more delicious melon ice cream! Who does such a thing? Mixue, the cruellest ice cream company of all time.

All good natural ingredients. What's wrong with that. Beetroot. Safflower, carrot, peas, curcumin, lemon, strawberry.    It's practically health food.

It could be Trump put a tariff on cantaloupe's. Maybe that's it.

Looked up Mixue.  That's a heck of a success story. Tens of thousands of stores around the world.  45,000 as of 9/2024.

Hopefully, they just had a run on melon flavor and they'll restock soon.

That Chinese Mixue ice cream is excellent. The Mango Sundae, lemonade and normal cone are also top quality. Sadly none are as good as the melon flavour. They'd just introduced that.

Maybe as a trial and it did not sell well enough. I'd  asked the guy at the counter, but he honestly said "Company decide, I just give ice cream". Hahahaha,.

I'll have to try the mango.  That's (by far) my favorite fruit.  But it's hard to reproduce that flavor.

You won't regret it, they really hit the mango flavour on the head. They got it down. Those crowds at Mixue are annoying, and the wait. Those poor Thai people working there.

Thrown out by Wall's/Nestle monopoly ?

Their icecreme is very unhealthy . Corn Syrup & palmoil. But it tastes good.

Too many monopolies in Thailand !

I submit that the OP has no idea about what is good quality, at all. I bought a cone for the girlfriend. Artificial with no creamy aftertaste describes it. Not ever again.

Palm oil? Oh My God? Seriously!

The only ice cream I eat in Thailand is either the local coconut milk ice cream, Swensens or Haagen Daz.

No thanks...you can enjoy.

Ingredients : Water, sugar, glucose syrup, lemon juice2 (5%), strawberry juice2 (4.5%), fructose, pineapple juice2 (2%), soluble fibre, coconut fat, stabilisers (guar gum, locust bean gum, tara gum), flavourings, black carrot concentrate, safflower concentrate, pea protein, acidity regulator (citric acid), beetroot juice concentrate, emulsifier (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), colours (chlorophylls, curcumin), salt.

Read the very small print on the packages.

I had to stop eating ice creme here.

Now just plain yoghurt, no sugar.

Palmitic acid. Shiiiiiiit. Good damn these Chinese.

I knew you can't trust them!

While that's a long list for ice cream, it looks fairly natural apart from the mono/diglycerides.

But we don't eat ice cream for our health.

those look like the ingredients for Wall's ice cream Twister. Which is more of an ice rather than ice cream. Thais call flavored ices ice cream..

Mixue's uses cream and milk.

I've only had their vanilla but it's excellent. And you have to know that's my genuine opinion because on principle I aim to disagree with you about everything.

The proof is in the tasting. And yes, we may be eating rain forest, and destroying the rain forest by eating palm oil derived palmitic acid. But the flavour is righteous.

It's just tragic they cancelled the melon ice cream. That stuff was like the crack version of ice cream.

Mixue doesn't do that. It's Walls that makes that stuff.

I've had a couple Mango flavored ice creams when I first moved here 7 years ago, I don't eat sugar much but tried them and they were good. Can't think of the brand. I sure would try melon flavor. I wish they had more sugar free ice creams and ices here.

Mixue did so make melon ice cream!

They just pulled it two days ago.

I was referring to the claim about the low quality ingredients.

I only regret that I opted for the vanilla instead of the melon flavor.

Looked it up, in Chiang Mai. How far do they deliver? Some things I can't get where I live, like Villa. I used to buy all different brands of sugar free, fat free ice creams and ices, yogurts in Texas. Miss them because they're low calorie and taste great.
