Trump might be the greatest internet troll of all time.

 

With his recent "Pope gag" added to the long list of trolling he's been doing for years.

 

So why does he do it?

Does it mean he's a crap president? Crazy and deranged?

 

Have you been DUPED by his trolling? Trolling causes emotions to stir up, namely anger. Can you think straight when you're angry? 

 

Like when someone on AN pushes your buttons and your face turns purple, has Trump actually been playing you like a marionnette for all these years?

 

Or ... please offer your explanation as to why he would do it. 

 

If you take Trump too seriously and everything he does makes your face turn purple, could it be that you lack a sense of humor? 

 

Or what's the psychology behind all of this, both from Trump's point of view and from the average person who is witnessing this?

Of course it is a joke.  If you hear from people who have actually spent time with him they say he is funny and makes jokes about himself.  Just look at the Bill Maher comments he thought Trump was good.

Trump lives by the adage that any press is good press because it spreads his name recognition. He's antics and arrogance fuels like minded people to believe its ok to insult and degrade anyone that disagrees with you. In his mind belittling people establishes his superiority over them even though its just in his mind. To find a villain you can blame for all the problems in life. It plays into his megalomaniacal narcissistic personality. He has no moral compass because he's never had to have one as his father spoon feed him financially and gave him access to a level of importance he could not attain himself or he would be a nobody that no one would take seriously

But then the anti-Trump brigade starts a similar thread about Trump trolling and inevitably the nefarious theories come out. He's trolling "to distract us", "to wear us down".

 

I wonder if it's more benign than that and he's just having fun.
