Targeted for being Jewish/Israeli . Most probably instigated and filmed by an enemy . Thais are usually non plussed about shoes being worn or removed She also states that the restaurant

  • Many tourists feel this way.  They are so much better then the low poor Thais and Thais should kiss up to them. Disrespectful, sickening and shameful attitudes.

If you look on the Pai Facebook page (Real Pai Family) you can see there is yet another issue involving the defacement of public signs with Hebrew stickers (leaving no question as to who put them there, as they are in Hebrew).

For some reason the Israelis seem to have chosen what used to be the most peaceful idyllic locations on the tourist trail! It seems somewhat ironic!

Sorry picture doesn't show but you can see on their facebook page

How much was the flight to the alternative reality ?

Did your flight land in a rabbit hole ?

Can't believe that not taking a pair of shoes off can provacate 3 pages of crap on this thread.

Can't be US or Australia as the country isn't small, otherwise...

Can't find a clear winner here.

Removing shoes when entering a shop or café used to be much more prevalent. Nowadays many don't seem to mind. They even stopped it at Samui Immigration in the last year or two, but many places still have signs asking that customers remove shoes, especially if they have polished wooden floors. I also find many pharmacies still request shoe removal.

After many stays in Thailand over many years, I’ve honestly never encountered that, except at temples of course. Now you have me worried that I’ve not been noticing these signs. Nothing against removing my shoes, never wear shoes inside my home or in anyone else’s home. In fact, I’m more likely to get into trouble for not wearing my shoes than for wearing them.

In a cafe'/restaurant mainly catering to foreign tourists (We are talking Koh Phanghan here), even in Thailand it's a very uncommon request, to ask customers to take their shoes off before entering.

Meanwhile there is a shirtless individual lounging on the cushions with his sweaty body.

Has there ever been so much attention to a foreigner keeping their shoes on when going into a restaurant  in Thailand ?

Actually the one time they will insist is if they have a small child crawling around .

I think the attention is more about her tits than her shoes!

How many caffès and restaurants you visit per day  ask you to remove your shoes?

how many cafes and restaurants asked you to remove your shoes since you live in Thailand?

Poor ,low educated people in that province now know that there are some white looking farangs  from whom can demand more strict compliance of Thai rules, who must hide his etiquette to use ‘Thai for farangs’ etiquette.

I will be surprised if they didn’t establish 3 price for everything-for Thais, for usual farangs, for these specific farangs.

It passed only one hundred year …

Viewers, both Thai and international, quickly condemned the behaviour as entitled and disrespectful. The incident fuelled existing frustrations, as Israeli tourists have recently been at the centre of several similar controversies throughout Thailand, with locals calling for more respect from their international guests.

They are all Antisemitic and should be thrown into dungeons. She is one of God's chosen people and should be treated with reverence and respect.

It's very common in KPG, perhaps not around Haad Rin where the Full Moon party is, but Sri Thanu, Bantai and Tong Sala it's almost all fully enclosed restaurants and cafes

The Israeli woman answered back to the Thais who abused her .

Lets be honest , most forums posters would have kept quiet, ran off back to their room  and barricaded themselves in for the next month too scared to go out .

Tourists money has indeed helped Thailand to develop .

Many felang retirees also claim that their pension money keeps Thailand afloat and without their input of 30 000 Baht a month , the Thai economy would collapse

Speak for yourself , you seem to forget the millions ++ spent on house and condo purchases .

Yes, and do it the Trump way... deport her to a neighbouring country... like Palestine, Syria or Yemen...

Dentist office: please take your shoes off.
Veterinarian: please take your shoes off.
Doctor's office: please take your shoes off.
Some cafes and restaurants: please take your shoes off.

TIT.  This is NOT a uncommon request by proprietors of businesses in Thailand. Your business, your rules. If you don't like the rules, don't patronize the business.

Silly B, should tourists in Israel Jewish customs because they are tourists and spend money???

Her mate is sitting there bare chested with a smirk on his face, tell both of them to bugger off.

Thailand has made a rod for its own back with these low class entitled tourists, make a decision either you want them and the problems they bring or you don't!

Of course it was the neo nazi white supremacists of Pai trying to incite violence.

The closest thing Israel has to being western are European Jews who moved there post WWII and even those are mainly from Eastern Europe.

Send all those trashy Israelis back home to their disgusting Apartheid Country!

Actually is not hygienic if we are honest when in a public place is it.what about if some person has a foot infection that is transmitted, think about it the venue should supply disposable footwear.

Its their home and their business, and you can stay away if you don't like it, pretty simple.

That clip does show her as very obnoxious in that clip.

However, if it is true that she did get permission from the staff to keep her shoes on, it really isn't about Thai culture. It's about a specific conflict that happened in the shop perhaps with other Karen like customers.

To me that's the key.

As I've implied before the shoes off thing in businesses is actually much more flexible in real life than many may realize. When you live here you become expert in seeing when it's a very serious no exceptions thing vs. actually the business not really caring much at all either way.

It is the Thai culture, and it is easy enough to ask if it is ok to keep shoes on or not. The Israeli Jewish crap is nonsense.

Pai should be claimed as part of Greater Israel and all of the Thais removed and moved to Bangkok. Then Pai could be reverted back to a literal Garden of Eden by ecology conscious Israelis and the problem would be solved.
