That is speculation. She smashed the place up, tried to exhort money that was not owed to her and then did a runner not just fleeing the scene of the crime but trying to leave the country! Where she was caught at departure gates at the airport. She sounds a right badun to me.

How does that help the victim? There is property damage to compensate and a mess to clean up.

If you are going to be dumb and mean enough to destroy a condo like this then don't be retarded and  remain in the country for further 2-3 weeks!

.

What self respecting GenZ er trashes a condo and doesn't post a video of herself doing it on Tic Tok?

Of course, the Russians are always to blame.

After all, why was the Ukrainian woman reluctant to rent a condo in her own name? I feel like there is something more to it. Perhaps, she was on Interpol list, and not without a reason?

I'd like to see you fix it and pay for it.

Me? What do I have to do with it? You seem confused, I'm neither Ukrainian nor a tourist

Compensate the landlord, do some jail time to learn her lesson, then blacklist and deport her.

Fine and a nice comfortable 30 day jail sentence should be about right.

Plus she should pay for the damage caused to the rental

She obviously thought she'd be gone before the incident was reported or that they'd have time to find her.

Since she called the location of the key in a few weeks ago already, 'obviously' is doubtful.

I agree with you, what you going to do if she has no money?

Jail and make him work during his time in jail until he has paid off the debt

UPDATE
Ukrainian Woman Re-Arrested in Phuket After Failing to Appear in Court Over Damaged Rental Property

A Ukrainian woman has been re-arrested in Phuket after allegedly failing to attend a scheduled court hearing in connection with severe damage caused to a rented condominium in the Wichit area.

The 20-year-old woman, identified only as Mrs Anastasia, was previously apprehended at Phuket International Airport after the owner of a local condominium reported extensive vandalism to their property. The damage, which reportedly included broken fittings, defaced surfaces, and general destruction, was estimated at around 350,000 baht.

Following her initial arrest, Anastasia confessed to the offence during police questioning and was formally charged with property damage. However, as the arrest took place on a public holiday, she was temporarily released with instructions to appear in court at a later date. She subsequently failed to attend the hearing, prompting investigators to obtain an arrest warrant from the Phuket Provincial Court.

Wichit Police, acting on the warrant, launched a search operation and eventually located the suspect at a condominium in the Wichit area on 13 May. She was immediately taken into custody and transferred to the court.

Citing concerns about her previous attempt to evade legal proceedings, the court has ordered Anastasia to be remanded in custody while further investigations continue.

A vindictive person like this, does not consider consequences. Restitution for expenses and court costs incurred is more useful

No. No.No. Sitting alone in a prison cell wondering what is going to happen next for a few months Then getting slung into gen pop for a few years whilst her Russian BF raises the money to get her out. About three hundred thousand baht.

I usually proceed on the assumption that, once I pay a deposit on a condo rental, I'll never see that money again.  I've never had that happen, but I assume it will.

I negotiate the agreed rental price bases on the assumption that they'll keep the deposit.  Whatever happens, that's fine with me.  It's not worth arguing about.

Some people will argue over everything and everything... even in a guest country

I know the report says it was a Bank Holiday, but it’s surprising they didn’t have room to keep her in prison until the court hearing. After all she would surely have been considered a flight risk and could have tried to cross a land border elsewhere.

Glad to see that Ukrainian aggression got a legal assessment.

Do you vandalise the property? Do you destroy the furniture? Do you graffiti the walls? Do you do millions of bahts worth of damage?

Of course not.  My point was that I go into the deal with a certain assumption.
