In a coordinated law enforcement operation, Thai police have successfully apprehended a French national in Pattaya, accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

The suspect, who had been evading capture since the incident in Nong Khai, was taken into custody following thorough investigative efforts.

On 8th June 2025, officers from Nong Khai, joined by Chonburi Immigration Police, executed the arrest of 44-year-old Mr Yannick, a French citizen.

The arrest was conducted pursuant to a warrant issued by the Nong Khai Provincial Court on 6th June 2025. He faces charges including the abduction of a minor for sexual exploitation.

The case unfolded when local authorities, collaborating with social services in Nong Khai, managed to rescue the young victim. The girl had reportedly been confined in a local residence.

Through detailed investigations, it was uncovered that she encountered Mr Yannick while visiting her mother, who worked at a beer bar in the area. It is alleged that Mr Yannick coerced the minor into performing sexual acts at a hotel.

Critical evidence surfaced via financial transactions that linked Mr Yannick to these criminal activities, prompting authorities to intensify their search. This led to his discovery and arrest at a condominium in Pattaya’s Sukhumvit area. He is currently being transported back to Nong Khai, where he will face prosecution under Thai law.

The investigation remains ongoing, as police aim to arrest any further individuals connected to this case. Authorities are determined to extend the inquiry to ensure that all parties involved are apprehended and held accountable.

This arrest underscores Thailand's commitment to combating child exploitation and protecting vulnerable individuals. Law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to dismantle such criminal networks and bring offenders to justice.

Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid law enforcement efforts in safeguarding minors and preventing exploitation.

You never heard of Lolita?

Was she a willing participant?  Was she pimped out?  Or was she kidnapped and held against her will?  Despicable in any case, but a completely different story depending on how it happened.  The French guy's probably not the only one they need to bang up.

Oh my,

13 year old, do you know how a 13 year look like and act like, a Thai 13 year old?

Any man who take advantage of young girls needs to be hunted down and imprisoned.

The article says she was "coerced into performing sex acts."

At 13 she is still considered a minor. So whether willing (which I doubt), or not, it is illegal, and the guy should know that.

No doubt.  String the guy up by his nuts.

But also go after anyone who pimped her out to him.  If he kidnapped her, nobody else needs to worry.  If she was pimped out to him, someone else should be real nervous.

You'd be satisfied with stringing up the one guy and let her pimps get away scot free?  So they can pimp her out again...

The most disturbing to me is that they seem to be covering up whether she was pimped out to the guy.  Which would implicate other people to be prosecuted, wouldn't it?

No one under 15 can be a willing participant, and then in certain circumstances. 15 is still too young for a girl to make such a decision, and is why countries with more care for their children have it at 16 to 18.

Yannick is his first name.

Pattaya needs a real cleanup These sex crimes are becoming far too common.

13 year old visiting her mother in a beer bar..... Seems some are skimming over the possibility that by that description, her mother may have been complicit.

Again, you're missing the glaring issue.  Did someone pimp her out to him?  If so, they should be hunted down, too.  Or they'll just pimp her (and others) out again.

If the French guy abducted her off the street, then he's the only one who should be strung up.  But I doubt that's the way it happened.  The OP isn't clear about that, and I don't think that's accidental.

I'd be investigating the mothers role in this.

I'm not missing that part.I commented on what you said. Of course others who pimp out girls and boys are to be held accountable. One of the things I hate the most is those taking advantage of women and girls, and also boys in this manner.

The mother needs to be scrutinized for her role, but I think you need to find a better way to phrase your posts because they come off creepy as fok.

It doesn't mention or you can't be bothered to actually read? Willing participants aren't usually confined and need to be rescued.

I award you with the sickest comment of the day.

Trying to victim blame a 13 year old girl with an absent father for being sexually abused based on a work of fiction.

Yup.  I read it.  It comes across as the typical Thai media story of prostitution.  Foreigner bad, Thai police heroes.  But pay no attention to the elephant in the room.

How was it that she ended up in the local residence, and was she really confined, or was she just doing what her pimps were telling her to do?

This on a forum where a recurring topic of conversation is (and I'm paraphrasing here) "How young can she be and I still don't get in trouble?"

I'm not defending the pedo, or blaming the 13 year old.  Just suggesting that maybe they need to dig deeper than the French guy.  Or she'll get pimped out again.

I can't see that there is any distinction.  You keep digging your hole deeper.

Why not just leave it at :
