You must not be aware that the military parade was only in one location. It is stupid to compare it to protests that were held in multiple locations.

 

It is also stupid to compare an event that does not pay for attendance to the protests that have paid performance artists in attendance.

Secondarily tge limitary did not go out of their way in promoting the event even though  a significant  Anniversary . That speaks volumes but you won't admit it now will you

Ok, compare one location, the "parade" city, and Philadelphia city alone.

I expect that  potential spectators would have stayed away from the army parade for good reason;

1. Gridlock. Getting around  DC has been a nightmare for residents, because of the additional security needed.

2. Fear of a  terrorist attack or  civil protest. All it takes is one maniac in a vehicle. We have seen it at other events. Sometimes the person is just a drunk or mentally ill, but they can do damage.

3. US citizens support their military, and love their July 4 parades, but a Russian or Chinese style parade rubs alot of patriotic people the wrong way, especially career military. Whatever their political views. the US military officer corps bristles at being used as a political prop.

Well said. Trump and his admin that supported this pathetic disingenuous gathering (sorry can't call it a parade or a celebration). Considering it was his b day party primarily it clearly shows the level of support this buffoon garners with his cult. If he had any moral charatacter he would be ashamed but he has none. His next move will be to try to blame it on someone or something else.

The article clearly said the "parade" attracted 100,000 OR LESS people while the protest in Philadelphia alone, drew OVER 100,000 people!!!

Your last paragraph is the accurate one and many may not have noticed how little support and coordination in staging a full blown parade was given by the military. Even in the public news announcement.

The birthday parade cost the tax payers more than 45 million USD. 

The protests cost only time and were free to attend.

They should have brought a coordinator from either Russia ,China or N.Korea

to show them how to do a proper military parade ,pictures of the troops shuffling
