webfact Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Picture via Facebook/ เมืองเลย ชาแนล Chaos erupted in Chiang Khan as a drunken foreigner attacked locals and vehicles with a wooden stick, causing pandemonium in the typically serene Isaan town. Residents promptly alerted the Chiang Khan Police Station after witnessing the suspect’s antics, including striking passersby and damaging multiple cars while recklessly riding a motorcycle. The shocking events were quickly shared on social media, as concerned motorists warned others through photos and accounts of the foreigner’s bizarre behaviour. Witnesses primarily attributed his actions to alcohol intoxication, though some speculated drug use could also be a factor. Upon their arrival, police found the foreigner, approximately aged 45 to 55, still at the scene, nationality unconfirmed, and attempted to search him for drugs to no avail. Refusing the search led to the police arresting him and taking him to the station, where a wooden stick and a knife were confiscated. Picture via Facebook/ เมืองเลย ชาแนล Despite the chaotic episode, no severe injuries were reported. Authorities have charged the suspect under three legal provisions: Section 43(2) and Section 43(8) of the Land Transport Act for intoxicated and reckless driving, potentially yielding up to a one-year jail term and fines between 5,000 and 20,000 Baht. Additionally, under Section 64 of the Vehicle Act, he faces charges for driving without a valid licence, risking up to a month’s imprisonment or a fine of up to 1,000 Baht. This is not an isolated event. A similar incident occurred in Phang Nga Province, where another intoxicated foreign motorist was apprehended after crashing into a road construction vehicle and attempting to bribe officers with 10,000 Baht. Phuket, too, witnessed such antics in April when a foreign couple overturned a sedan and shamelessly danced around the wreck, earning significant public disapproval. These incidents highlight a growing concern over unruly behaviour by some foreign visitors in Thailand, underscoring the importance of law enforcement vigilance to ensure public safety in tourist hotspots. Barnet1900 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Crap report. Starts off in an interesting incident and reverts to good old xenophobic rants about foreigners. The events were shared on social media..... Says more about society than some nutter waving a stick. People's first reaction is to take a video and share in order to be popular for an hour. Pathetic 1 2 2

No, but if you would watch the daily news, you would see this happening all the time. 5 against 1, chasing him down the street, then hitting with sticks or whatever they have in their hands as weapons, which is regular behavior. Afterwards the regular kicking while down and in the head. Also, the daily machete and knife attacks of innocents, with the smattering of gunshots to the head, killing of relatives and other intentional homicides that happen daily here. 2 1
