It seems to just takes one phone call and they will breaking down your door. I wonder how many times this happens and someone is innocent?

I was tempted to take a video, but no, I don't like confrontation.

Seriously, this MAN was dressed in a woman's outfit, Pattaya attracts all the Nutjobs

These days I just avoid all foreigners (not close friends.... I have many) in Thailand.

Reckon he was about to hit beach road and start snatching gold necklaces ??...

I reckon you are paranoid or do you have a legitimate reason for this apparent fear? You wouldn't also be getting followed by a giant hedgehog would you?

Yeah, all the neighbors have their security cams pointed at my house. They peek in the windows at night. They follow me wherever I head out to the local kad, the folks at the local kad are eye balling me the entire time I’m there. It’s a broad network of lurking and keeping tabs on me, I’m sure they have compiled a lot of detailed information and pass it on to those who are interested in other parts of the district.

The government actively monitors social media and private communications with limited, if any, oversight. A complex set of policies aims to control online communication, but the country does not have a legal framework that establishes accountability and transparency mechanisms for government surveillance.

Sections 18(1) to 18(3) of the CCA allow the government to access user-related or traffic data without a court order and to compel ISPs to decode programmed data.134

Government agencies possess a variety of surveillance technologies. In July 2022, an investigation from Citizen Lab, iLaw, and Digital Reach identified at least 30 Thai human rights defenders, prodemocracy protestors, and monarchy-reform activists whose devices were infected with Pegasus spyware.135 The investigation was prompted after Thai politicians, activists, and academics received emails from Apple in November 2021 notifying them that “state-sponsored attackers” may have targeted their iPhones.136 Following this, the MDES minister admitted that some Thai government departments have been using Pegasus spyware for “national security” and to combat drug trafficking.

Section 15 of the Thai Computer Crime Act (CCA) outlines the liability of service providers for offenses committed under Section 14. Specifically, it states that if a service provider intentionally supports or consents to an offense under Section 14 within a computer system under their control, they will be subject to the same penalties as the primary offender"

"In simpler terms: If a service provider (like an internet provider, website host, or even a company with an internal network) knowingly allows or helps someone commit a computer crime (like those listed in Section 14), they can be punished just as severely as the person who directly committed the crime. "

So correct me if i am wrong.  But Guesthouse are required to monitor your actives. I have personally seen large computer systems in small guesthouses offices, which seem to be used record actives such as full urls. They have somesort of spy way on their routers.

Yeah well ... people living in lavish villas, lavish vehicles ... might very well be under suspicion because there is actually a lot of criminal activity taking place. And guess what? It's not that easy to get rich lawfully in this day and age.

I doubt anyone will be sentenced for anything without evidence.

Thailand needs to maintain its public image with the international community. If people are wrongfully imprisoned, it will reflect poorly and tourism will suffer.

Just cross your T's and dot your I's and you have nothing to worry about.

He was a drug dealer, found in possession of hundreds of meth pills. The expensive motorbike was just one of the clues.

I guess other clues may have been late night visitors coming and going - disturbing the neighbourhood.

Don't know about guest houses but suspect technically they should also be logging customers online activities like gaming and Internet cafes are supposed to.

I think a VPN can mitigate that if you use your own devices and avoid CCTV having a direct view of your screen.

You should post a link to the story.

The operation was prompted by local reports about the tenant’s reclusive behaviour, lack of employment, and possession of firearms, causing concern among residents.

Although no firearms were found, an empty 9mm ammunition box was discovered along with 708 methamphetamine pills stored in pink containers with foil and other drug paraphernalia.
