On 22nd June 2025, legal expert Paisal Puechmongkol suggested that Thai PM Paetongtarn might face suspension by the Constitutional Court. Despite the government's waning support, the PM has neither dissolved parliament nor resigned, opting instead to maintain her administration.

The Constitutional Court is set to consider a request from the Senate's Blue Party for the PM's removal and suspension next week. If the suspension occurs, Phumitham is expected to serve as caretaker PM.

A large protest of 150,000 people is anticipated next week, reminiscent of the big rallies seen years ago. Unless the situation escalates to the point of martial law, a military coup is unlikely.

The military has increased border controls under martial law powers, and the government has been cautioned against interfering with these military powers.

Ongoing legal cases, including Senate-related activities and the swift handling of land and construction issues, are taking the spotlight. The Supreme Court is also under pressure to resolve these rapidly.

A Cabinet reshuffle is expected, potentially before the Constitutional Court's decision. There's public interest in whether these changes will improve the country's situation or not.

The Pheu Thai Party is urged to focus on national issues rather than internal appointments to regain public trust and stability.

So the military is effectively doing what it wants again.   Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

  • So, effectively a coup - the Army and the Courts taking over.

I am rubbing my hands together to see the outcome of this little tit... Thaksin has already told his daughter to do nothing. So you can be sure she will follow daddy's advice.

I do not think the military will intervene so quickly to take control. But think within a week or 2 they will be called in to maintain order of protests are so large in numbers.

I also think soon, depending on the courts decision, other parties will begin escalating the situation by encouraging their followers to join protests. This will get nasty if the PM continues to act like nothing can change with daddies protection.

This is what happens when people live a life fully entitled and never have to deal with the realities of daily life or to have to actually work and earn your way in life. They have no comprehension of right or wrong, just that they are allowed to do whatever they feel regardless of the impact or affect on anyone else as their life wont change one way or the other

Yeah it’s only the Shins that are devisive and certainly not the absolute clown show that always finds a way to replace them right?

Let us hope. Her toxic father is using all his influence to avoid the humiliation they richly deserve after being a party to a stolen "pseudo democratic election".

hmm… yawn , around in circles we go?

Time to throw the whole family into prison before he does another runner

That leaked phone call was unfortunate.  I will very slightly dip my toe into online Thai politics.....and, with that, I'm out....
