Iran’s parliament has voted to close the Strait of Hormuz, the vital shipping channel through which around 20% of the world’s daily oil flows.

They don't own it all nor can they close it all without force on other countries jurisdictions.

What if people from your own country were there fighting against Iran? Would it be OK to bomb them?

Are you actively rooting for China and Russia?

I just want to make sure there's no confusion when you get the letter in the mail.

The people of my country have no business attacking other countries. And any country attacked should fight back, including Iran.

They also have submarines small ones and high speed torpedoes I’d be curious as to know has their navy been wiped out?anyway looks like convoy duty for sure putting a lot of folks at risk….thats just the (hard) targets we all know how they like to go after (soft) targets….but don’t worry we have that crack professional home security team to rely on…….hopefully it will be over soon and be successful in our favor.

The Iranians have no need to sink a major US warship.

All they need to do is to sink a support ship or a support tanker an the battle group will have no aviation fuel, ammunition or food other that what is on board on a daily usage basis.

Putting an aircraft carrier group inside the Arab Gulf will effectively bottle it up, as the Straits of Hormuz is the only way in or out. Common sense 101.

You are  bigger and stronger than your neighbor and he tells you  he is going to rape your daughter and he has access to her.  You would do nothing?  Interesting...

Iranian airspace might belong to Iran but it's now totally controlled by Israel. As for "just fly in and bomb them?" that's easy. Take out a threat of nuclear weapons which would threaten the US, US personnel and interests, and the defence of an ally, Israel. What do you imagine would happen. The US contacts Iran to ask if they can come into their airspace so they can bomb their nuclear enrichment facilities?

Maybe the USA could mind their own business for once and leave other countries be instead of trying to control everything. Always the BS excuse, we have to protect our interests (they should be in your own country).

So they will control everything.

This is the way.

Vietnam war lost

Korean war never ended.

Afghanistan war solved nothing, Taliban rules again.

What is your military going to do against a barrage of nuclear war heads?

With what pray tell are you going to do that? you have no Airforce, (at least not the ones you want to send up and lose them, right?) you're hiding your Navey vessels, yes, you have 8 subs, but if you want to lose them too, send out to initiate

a blockade. Go On.

Couple of mines is a lot cheaper.

What Iran could do is announce that only ships belonging to its allies (Russia, China etc.) are allowed to go through. Whatever, this would be an opportunity for Israel and the US to eradicate Iran's navy, which has been spared up to now.

Did you mean like the USA bombing a country that they are not at war with without even consulting the few allies that the USA has left?

That sort of law and order?

What states the US must consult with anyone?

On 29 June 2008, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Ali Jafari, said that if either Israel or the United States attacked Iran, it would seal off the Strait of Hormuz to wreak havoc in the oil markets. This followed more ambiguous threats from Iran's oil minister and other government officials that an attack on Iran would result in turmoil in the world's oil supply.

Vice Admiral Kevin Cosgriff, commander of the U.S. 5th Fleet stationed in Bahrain across the Persian Gulf from Iran, warned that such Iranian action would be considered an act of war, and the U.S. would not allow Iran to hold hostage nearly a third of the world's oil supply.

Remember just a few years ago, when you weren't allowed into any facilities,  or hotels, or a job or allowed to travel without a vaccine certificate?!

That was just a feeler and little taster or what is planned

THey don't even have to close it, just like someone said before, ......sink a few cargo vessels and the insurance premiums make going through the strait unprofitable and would completely cut supply
