In a striking case of online shopping gone wrong, Chompoonuch Wanchana from Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand, experienced an unsettling discovery upon receiving what she thought was a brand-new shaver. The 44-year-old’s story has since gained significant traction on social media.

Chompoonuch, hoping for a straightforward purchase, turned to a well-known e-commerce platform recognised by its orange logo. However, upon unboxing the shaver, she found not the pristine device she expected, but rather one accompanied by unwelcome surprises.

Her perplexity was evident in the viral Facebook video she posted. Chompoonuch detailed the unexpected lack of accessories such as a charger and user manual. Yet, the real shock came upon noticing several long, dark hairs on the device, raising her suspicions that it might have been previously used.

“I tried to understand the missing items, but the hairs were just unacceptable,” she exclaimed in the video, highlighting her disbelief.

Intent on ensuring she had evidence, Chompoonuch recorded the unboxing process, which proved wise given the circumstances. She promptly contacted the seller, providing them with the video as proof of her predicament.

The seller’s response was mixed. While they agreed to send her a replacement shaver, they refused to accept the return of the original, soiled product. Chompoonuch speculated that someone might have secretly tested the shaver before it reached her, emphasising the concern over receiving personal items that may not be as new as advertised.

Beyond seeking redress for her own situation, Chompoonuch took to social media not to publicly shame the seller, but rather to alert other consumers. She advised potential buyers to diligently read reviews and opt for reputable sellers when shopping online, helping them avoid similar distressing experiences.

Her story has resonated with consumers, prompting discussions about online retail practices and the importance of quality control in e-commerce. It serves as a cautionary tale about the potential pitfalls of online shopping, underscoring the need for vigilance and consumer awareness.

Chompoonuch’s experience captures the broader challenges faced by online shoppers worldwide—a reminder of the need to balance convenience with scrutiny to ensure satisfactory purchases.

Here's a shorter version of the story without all the drama:

Thai Woman Receives Used Shaver in Online Order, Warns Others to Be Cautious

Chompoonuch Wanchana from Prachuap Khiri Khan, recently received what appears to be a used electric shaver from a popular e-commerce platform while expecting a new product. She was surprised to find the shaver missing standard accessories such as a charger and user manual. The device appeared to have been used, as it had several long hairs on it.

To document the issue, Chompoonuch recorded the unboxing process and contacted the seller with the video as evidence. The seller agreed to send a replacement but declined to take back the original product.

Chompoonuch later shared her experience on social media to inform others, encouraging online shoppers to check seller reviews and product ratings before making purchases.

I don't blame the seller for not wanting the used shaver sent back. At least you'll know they won't try to sell it again. Throw it away or clean it up and give it to someone you don't like much.

My guess is that they already accepted someone sending it back, uncleaned, before selling it again, so why not take it back a second time?

So? The two biggest platforms allow return and refund without any specific reason beyond "item doesn't suit me". While disgusting, it's not a problem.

Was she just making a "Un-boxing" video to review the product?  The way it is worded it seems she had suspicions that it was used already! "Intent on ensuring she had evidence, Chompoonuch recorded the unboxing process, which proved wise given the circumstances."

Somethings fishy about this razor. Maybe from the previous owner? 🤔😆
