Hi there, as I've got older eating or drinking products that contain sugar gives me severe mouth ulcers. I was wondering which Thai beer has the lowest sugar content.

San Miguel Light.

Maybe has a few less calories then the rest.

As for sugar. don't know.

Ironically light beers can actually contain a small amount of sugar.

If anyone is looking for lowest calories in spirits, then go with the clears;  vodka, gin & tequila, usually <100 per shot (1.5 oz / 44 ml).

Someone mentioned Jack D, that's good also, as is Jameson & Crown Royal, the 2, favorites of mine.  All ~100 per shot.

Those are still quite high, although you would probably drink less by volume than beer, so it's swings and roundabouts. Hong Thong is 95kcal./45ml. Chang, Leo and Singha are 150kcal per 100ml.

Kasteel Donker is a whopping 330 kcal/100ml. although it is 11% abv. I had two bottles in Vientiane and I felt like I was wearing somone else's face. 😮

Beer should have next to 0 sugar per 100 ml, since a fermented alcohol drink.  Any residual sugar from the fermentation would barely register.

Nonsense, I made my beer, you need a teaspoon of sugar to create gas

I could explain it to you, but I couldn't make you understand it, so my brother.

Maybe you'll listen to Ms Google.

I made my own beer and wine for years, I don't need Google

Try cannabis. 0 calories 0 sugar.

True, but think of the calories the munchies generate afterwards.

and the sugar is consumed by the yeast hence fermentation and alcohol. Beer as the post you responded to said has very little residual sugar. You say you made your own beer then you should know this. Your claim of making your own beer is questionable.

… and alcohol. Fear all that experience is going against you. The sugars are converted. Any sugary taste would inherently be in the original ingredients or might be added later for taste.
Personally of the Thai beers, I find Leo the most ‘sugary’. Really notice it if haven’t drunk it for a while. Singha probably has less.
IPAs generally probably have the most sugars for a beer.

Beer has carbohydrates which are converted into sugar.

Exactly, and indeed questionable.

The OP was asking about sugar in Thai beer, not calories in foreign spirits.

Did you notice the follow up post mentioning Jack ?

Sometimes I post 'to to title', sometimes to the OP, as my first reply was addressing, sugar, or lack of any.  Other times, just as general info, for others and or, in reference to their comments.

And the vodka, gin & tequila, doesn't necessary have to be non Thai brand.  Obviously not Tequila (agave), but Thai distilleries do produce spirits.

Was is correct ... asked & answered correctly the very first comment, mine.

Then someone through in that 'Jack' comment ... OMG

Take note, OP did state 'drinking products' ... so what the hell.   Providing a bit of extra info, so yes, guilty as charged.  To the gallows .... 🙄

Yours & KannikaP's input helped inform us all ... how ???

Some non-alcoholic beers have lots of sugar.

Heineken and Budwiser has 0g of sugar.

For the pedants Heineken is brewed in Thailand so ergo is a Thai beer. Don't know where Budweiser is brewed as I don't drink it.
