I just deposited 400k in the bank getting ready for renewal of my marraige visa in 60 days. I've looked everywhere online and all I see is 60 days prior to renewal. My wife just called Phuket Immigration and asked specifically the guy who we went through the process with last time and he said it was 90 days prior! This is going to be a disaster. Is there anything I can do at this point?

If you have never had one on your current (original) visa you can get a 60 days "visit Thai family" extension to buy the time that your office erroneously requires.

You do hear of variations eg think there is one "in the sticks" Offices that asks for 3 months prior for extension retirement...

However not normal at office such as Phuket.

As mentioned above... Your fall back plan is to obtain 60 day extension to visit wife.

Should not be necessary

Tell him to read second point on this list.

It was 60 days under the old requirements before 'Big Joke' introduced new orders accepting overseas transfers into a Thai bank account and amended the financial requirements based on 'funds' for extensions based on retirement and Thai family to align to the same financial requirement to 2 months prior to the date of application.

It's been 2 months (not 60 days) prior to submitting the application since 2018.

I was always asked 90 days in samui and now in mahasarakham they only ask 60 days . Although samui love to make doing visas as annoying as they possibly can buy changing what they ask for when it suits them , nevermind the actual items needed.

Careful with that.. 😉

As @Liquorice correctly posted the seasoning of banked money method for extension based on married to a that is 2 months  (date to date) <- which is not always 60 days. 😮

Had someone hung up out at Chaengwattana on a Friday thinking it was 60 days and they had to come back the following Monday after it seasoned the two months 😕

No

  • Financial Requirements: A financial requirement must be met, either by depositing 400,000 Thai Baht in a Thai bank account for at least two months or by showing a monthly income of at least 40,000 Thai Baht.

No

Yes and already pointed out a few times. Lazy error

No idea why I posted 60days instead of the correct 2 months.

My worry about the Thb400,000.00 deposit 60 days before renewal.  If you can prove Thb45,000.00 monthly foreign pension income, for 12 month, your also good to go.  Word of advise, you must show it in one Thai bank account.   You cannot have Thb25,000.00 foreign source in one account and Thb20,000.00 foreign source in another.  Immigration only look at one account only!

I just went through my marriage visa, Government Complex indicated, 60 days for Thb400,000.00 deposit prior to application. to be sure, deposit it 65-70 days prior.

I think that is dependant on which office/IO you use as I do not believe that there is anything in the "rules" to prevent it!

Its usually 2 months but if you have an IO that wants to make trouble for you...(there's a particular one at CW that just <deleted> hates me for some reason) they will make things up to make a problem for you.  I was under 400k for 5 minutes within a 3 month window and she make me come back the following month
