Not able to attach PDF and/or .zip files... To what? Email? Social media? A particular app?

This is ASEAN Forum Support so obviously to a post on here :whistling:

Hmm, I thought maybe somewhere else because AN seems pretty clear on what files are attachable.Screenshot_2025-07-06-12-06-47-753_com.android.chrome.jpg.bb0a1d0747547282b4f20bd5668c5e38.jpg

Yes, I know what files ARE attachable, just wonder why PDF are not.

What's wrong with PDF files? It's a very common widely used format

Malware risk?

Just upload to Google Drive and post a link.

Correct. The new normal for a PDF file is to upload it to a cloud storage service and then post the link to it.

Malware risk is always a concern with any file, just wonder why PDF, which is one of the most widely used formats should not be allowed.

Quite a few other formats are allowed, which I'm sure are also susceptible to malware, just curious why PDF would be more so?

Seem to remember plenty of PDF files for download on the Immigration download forms page, so they can't be all bad.

As for using the "cloud" thing, I just can't be bothered. I'm too old and cranky now to sign up to any more things, they always want more and more personal information.

The only reason I'm asking about PDF is that a couple of time when I tried to answer a post on here with a PDF attachment I couldn't. Only trying to be helpful.

Also the picture formats  jpg  etc are  now compressed so much that most text from a scanned A4 document is unreadable..seems to me  a step backwards  when trying to share information...it was fine for years  there was even the option of downloading the original hi-res  jpg if the rendered webpage was  too low resolution...that option disappeared too.
