Trump promised 200 trade deals. He’s made 3

As you were saying?

You do know what I was saying — it’s right there in black and white.
Unlike your cat.

In fact, you’re the one proving my point.
Those 197 “signed trade deals” only exist in your alternate reality —
unless you’ve got evidence of the receipts.

Logic isn’t your strong suit — off-topic, red herring, classic bait and switch.

  • He's got to unwind decades of bad trade policies.  You can make the deals fast, or you can do them right.   I know which way I'd go.

  • Trump doing something right? On what planet?

"I guess you don't understand negotiating tactics."   "Yep, it's the Art of the Deal."   "He's playing 4D chess."   "Those are just the ones he's announced so far."

Lets make this easy for you.

Name the country which Trump tariffed, and as of today, is tariff free.  Just one.

Then tell me about "TACO"

Then he announced a tariff on an island inhabited by penguins,

If Heard Island and MacDonald Island only had penguins, how did they export $1.4 million of machinery to the USA in 2022?  The answer, of course, is that they didn't.  Someone either deliberately or accidentally listed them as the country of origin on goods from elsewhere. And bypassed import duties.

You know how to stop that transshipment nonsense?  Impose tariffs on all imports from that island.  So even a mistake or deliberate cheat won't fly, cheating the US taxpayers of the import duties.

Going by his complaints that countries that had large trade surplus were robbing the US. Why did he put tariffs on countries that had a trade deficit with the US such as the UK?

Now he is threatening 50% tariffs on Brazil over their treatment of ex President Bolsonaro. That has nothing to do with the US. Well apart from the fact Bolsonaro may have been an investor in the SPAC tied up with Trump Media.

During his first term in office, Trump told 30,753 lies.

Nice graph in the article showing the exponential growth.

Yeah right, complete nonsense fantasy claims as usual from the WOPO, a Democrat backing outlet, a false claim produced for useful idiots to repost.

So much winning! Could this be the reason for this epic failure on Trump's part to secure these trade deals. Is it winning fatigue that has led to this TACO bonanza?

"At the conclusion of his first 100 days in office in late April, President Donald Trump made a stunning statement about his progress on tariff negotiations: He had completed trade deals with 200 countries. More than two months later, Trump has announced just three of those agreements – with China, the United Kingdom and Vietnam."

You're just making up things in your head.

Next?

A tariff of 50% on all copper imported into the USA for all kinds of essential items manufactured in America is not inflationary?

50% of copper in America is imported.

Every economist seems to agree tariffs add to inflation. Please post your reasons why they are not.

"Every Economist"...And many economists agree a little bit of inflation ican be good for an economy Jeez! Inflation is not the end of the world. Look at China. They are the country that is suffering from inflation and their leader Xi is soon.to be deposed.  Thanks to Trump.

Gosh...  Wouldn't that make it more economically attractive to open new US copper mines, expand existing US copper mines and put thousands of US miners to work at those juicy miner wages?

Not to mention turbocharging the US recycling business for copper and other metals being tariffed.  Seems like the Greenies should be celebrating that.

Old news...  Discussed ad nauseum when the tariffs were first imposed.  I'll let you do the searches.  I already know everything I want to know about it.  If you want to know more, put out your own effort.  Not my yob, man.

Anyone who's ever done much import/export understands it well.  For journalism majors and the lefties with social justice degrees and a dose of the syndrome, it flies right over their little pinheads.

Extremely unlikely give the economics of opening up mines in the US.....even with 50% tariffs it is unlikely to persuade any mining companies to invest, particularly when the TACO is in charge and the tariff could be removed at a stroke.

Continuing to make predictions after being consistently wrong all the time is a leftist thing. Indeed, none of yall know what youre talking about on any topic, proven

You do realise that what you've described is precisely what Trump has been doing, right? He keeps making predictions about trade deals and is consistently wrong about them.

So I guess by your logic that must make him a leftist.

This TACO drivel. I'll tell you when it applies. It will apply when Trump puts his hands up and says "I can't do a deal with XYZ country. I apologise for introducing tariffs against said country, and we will return to Biden era trade arrangements with said country."

aka - never, ever going to happen. These drivelous lunatics can't get over the fact that just about every country on earth is tariffed at 10% or more. They forget to mention that Trump hammered certain countries this week, including Thailand.

The notion that he "taco'd" because he extended a deadline by three weeks is weak comfort to the brain dead. And remember this -

As long as he has the new tariffs in place against any country the idea of TACO is toddler logic.

And don't forget that it's American businesses paying tariffs. It's a tax. On the one hand tax cuts for the wealthy, and on the other hand tariffs for everybody.

Next?

Inflation is bit lower only because SA and opec countries are increasing their production. Food inflation is already higher (2.9%) than at the end of Biden's mandate (2.5%).

Aha - unable to answer the simple question. Then spitting the dummy out like a frustrated toddler.

The basic premise of the thread - TACO - is childish.

When challenged to name one counrty that has had it's tariff status restored to Biden era trade arrangements - you can't.

Utterly pathetic, woeful and childish.

Uhuhu - so what you're saying is that inflation is lower?

Is that not the opposite of what people said would happen when the tariffs were introduced?

When this dyslexic adult first read the post my eyes saw:   “in April, late President Donald Trump” instead of:  “in late April, President Donald Trump”.  555
