trump changes his tariff policies more often than his diaper.

Canada is in his sights today...35%? 20%?

Nothing says chaos and American hardship due to Trump tariffs than a new all time high BTC and US stock markets.

I really hope nobody is still listening to the sufferrers nonsense😅

the economic outlook is increasingly fragile.

The countries that dont negotiate their way out of tariffs look increasingly fragile. Maybe time to look at vietnam

US and Canadian markets are at record highs.  TSX is up about 8% since the inauguration, S and P is up about 5%.

I can live with these results.

From a non-Canadian's perspective I'm impressed with what Carney has done so far. He's obviously in a very difficult position with what goes on down south. For your sake I hope Melania doesn't develop a crush on Carney.

I won't disagree with you. He is a vast improvement on Trudeau, who drove the country into the ground for a decade.  Seems to me that Carney is rediscovering his identity after leaving Europe. Becoming more pragmantic, more energy-friendly, and more practical.

I think he and Trump can do business. Trump respects people with academic pedigree, business experience, and money. Carney has all three- Trudeau had none.  Look for a deal to be done in the next week or two.

Tariffs, tariff and tariffs again

More like Whine, whine and whining again.

How many threads are already open screeching about the tariffs?

Strange enough, when challenged by another poster for links that I recall I had posted back in April (Penguin Island), I went back and perused the ad nauseum lefty forecasts of doom and gloom on account of the tariffs.  None of them have come close to coming true.  In fact, quite the opposite.  Job numbers are up (except federal workers and illegals), the markets are doing great, inflation's pretty tame and it costs less to fill the car.  What's not to like?

You don't feel them yet as he went Taco on most. Plus it takes some time to feel the pain but that is logic you wont understand.

This last week has seen the Trump derangement cranked up a notch, relentless threads about Trumpo, with 3 in a row being totally fictional, what is wrong with you guys, do you not see how obsessed you have become.

Sad sad sad

Meanwhile their Transtifa foot soldiers are shooting cops, and their donors are keeping illegal migrant children as slaves on marijuana plantations.

The stock market is valued in Dollars. Since January, the market has risen by a little over 4%, while the dollar has fallen by 10%. You can do the math.

Last year  corn in a NC Harris Teeter never dropped below 5 for $2. Now its 4 for $1 and its not totally local yet. Fuel costs are waaay down.

Thats the math for Americans

start ranting about something else. Truth for them is a stranger. Just like their dear leader.

Hows the American economy doing?

Speaking of nutters deflecting...

Ask an American. One who lives in  the USA, rather than slumming it in Cambodia. They won't be talking about the stock market, that's for sure. How is it in your Gamblers Anonymous meetings?

Now we've done with that idiot, would anyone like to comment on the success or otherwise of Trump's tariff gambit?

And what is your point?

You raised the matter of fictional threads about Trump and weird obsessions.

Let us just say I was providing a particularly bizarre example, which has appeared from within his own camp!

Trouble is, deals mean nothing. The day after they're signed someone will show Trump that photo of his wife snogging Trudeau, he will throw a hissy fit, go back on social media and the whole deal will be off.
