According to The Atlantic, the food was to be distributed this year to children in Afghanistan and Pakistan. However, Doge's (Department of Government Effectiveness) axing of U.S. foreign aid, including USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development), has hampered these efforts.

 

According to USAID inventories dating from January, some 60 000 tons of food are currently stored in American warehouses around the world. Most of this is peas and cereals originally destined for Sudan, which is facing famine. However, since the dismissal of USAID logistics experts, the Trump administration would no longer be able to deliver them, even if it wanted to.

His willful disregard for children, in that he'd rather destroy food than feed them, shows he has no interest in kids, which means he's innocent of diddling them with his buddy Jeff Epstein.

 

Now what I can't MAGA'splain, however, is why he has decided to interfere in the names of US Professional sports teams, demanding the Cleveland Guardians become the Indians again, and the Washington Commanders become the Redskins again. How does that make America great again?

How long do you figure a survival biscuit has to sit in a warehouse before it expires?

She noted there are stocks of cooking oil sitting in a Houston port and food aid stored in Djibouti that may soon expire.

 

Think about the shelf life of cooking oil.  That's why they needed to clean up the fustercluck that was in charge of the programs.  They were incapable of even keeping track of what they had spent $millions of tax dollars on.  (But I'll bet they know where every whorehouse is in the disaster zones.)

The few hundred million dollars that are being saved by denying food and medical aid to the poorest of the poor is a pox on the face of America, and will not be forgotten. History will record this episode as being one of the cruelest and most vicious in the history of America. Trump is likely the 2nd least charitable billionaire in American history, after Musk, and he and Musk were actually a very good pair in that regard. Pure and very ugly stinginess.

Had it happened under Biden, nobody would even know (or cared) about it.  It's a routine thing.  Plain vanilla gub'ment waste.  That's why they need to dismantle the agencies like USAID and rebuild them.
