Just sending money in chunks now, when baht is up above 36....buy....when down....wait.

A better idea is to convert to THB via Wise when the rate is good, and keep it there until needed.

Exactly. Thailand will have to consider what is more important, flourishing trade and tourism, generating billions, or childishly claiming a temple (which the International Court of Justice awarded in

Already have a Wise account, I'm keeping some cash in their interest bearing account, right now it's paying 3.92%.....when time comes I can convert it to THB and get better rates (minus some fees) than the normal Wise process.

Cambodia would at least have to drop an A-bomb onto Thai territory, in order to weaken the baht to 33... 😆

I won't purchase any baht below 36, and I'd prefer 37-38.

While I feel the same ... reality is that the first week of every month my Wire Transfer comes to maintain my income requirement for immigration and ability to pay the cast of living.

I use the 400,000 baht bank method to hold my stay here. Leaving most assets back home to grow, still good for a while, but if it pops above 36-37 I will purchase another 2-3 years of THB. This is the plan for the future, buying in chunks when the baht is high.

The Thai baht has experienced a downturn as tensions escalate with Cambodia, reflecting the currency's sensitivity to regional conflicts. After having reached 32.11 per US dollar, its strongest point since February 2022, the baht fell by 0.3% on Thursday. This reaction follows a surge driven by optimism in trade negotiations and foreign capital inflows, complemented by high gold prices.

What a load of khrapp !!  Media ignorance and stupidity and BS as usual.

Over the last 12 months the Baht has gone from 36 Baht per 1 USD, and it is right now 32 per 1 USD. The Baht is massively over-valued given all the economic, financial and social indicators - fact.

Propping up the Baht is being directed by the Thainese wealthy who want it high for their own personal, family and business benefits. They dont export crops and they dont care about basic tourism numbers - only the wealthy ones whose numbers are the same as always (maybe higher).

In September 2024 the Finance Minister said the Baht was too high and badly affecting the economy. In that month the Baht was 32/33 per 1 USD, when earlier in July it was 36. It very soon afterwards went back up - and those who understand Thai politics and power know that the Minister was trying to defend their work to lower the Baht - and he and his Govt was 'over ruled'.

Finance minister urges action on rising Thai baht, high policy rate

I literally just spit my coffee outside at the absurdity of the Baht falling just because of a war no stable government🤔

The escalating border conflict is giving investors a reason to book some gains.

What a load of cr--. These changes had begun already in the past 2 or 3 months. It has nothing to do with the conflict in Cambodia. It does have a lot to do with the tariffs Trump will enact soon if Thailand does not keep rejecting deals offered by the US.

Correct. Curreny Rates for CHF is at the Moment always between THB 40 to 41 through Wise.

Changing Cash at SCB only gives THB 39

No use keeping GBP in your Wise Account, you lose by Inflation. Change it to THB as soon as rate is over say 44.5.

How do I access the Wise Interest account please?

Thai Bank rate is always lower than Wise.

Mine is in USD, it isn't ever going to see 44.5, I can dream though 🤣

You have to apply for the interest account, and the WISE card.

Stopped drinking beer, working on getting back in shape, alcohol doesn't help.

This is like blaming problems on the Freemasons and J-ews, no self respecting person should do such a thing.
