This is the correct website to schedule an appointment, right? And I think you have to schedule it 30 days out at minimum. I'm trying to access it for a late August appointment but it seems not to be working. I tried for my Thailand IP as well as a VPN with a US IP.

They could be slammed with applications since the Cambodian border hop is dead.

 

It could be a temporary outage.

Appointment for what? There is no more appointments.  You apply online through the Thai e-visa website, and go between 9-11AM on a business day to pay for your visa.  The only place that requires appointments anymore is Yangon, Myanmar, who require an appointment to pay for your application after you pay online.

Correction, the appointment in Yangon is to pay for your application after you "submit" online.

Boy you're a day late and a dollar short with your information 😕 

There is no appt system for the Vientiane consulate since they went to online eVisa applications only back in Jan 1st 2025 😮 

Now the process works like this

• you go to Lao,
• you log into the online eVisa system,
• you fill out and upload the required fields/documents, including proof you're IN Lao (visa/entry stamp)
• you use the hotel you're staying at as your "current address"
• you use your thai address here as your "permanent address",
• you submit the application,
• you PRINT out the confirmation and take that to the embassy between 9-11 M-F to pay for the visa in cash

THEN

• you wait in Lao until it's approved.

They will email you the PDF which is your visa, print it and hand it to the officer at passport control when you stamp in to the country

What is now in the passport instead of the visa sticker? (Also didn't Immigration offices need a copy of the sticker for extensions in the past?)

e-Visa applications are approved via confirmation email.

You print out hard copy and enter Thailand showing that to immigration.

Can I apply for a Thailand visa from any country now, even where applications at Thailand's diplomatic missions weren't accepted by non-residents in the past, e.g. Singapore, Bali, or Japan?

Some visas previously required you to apply in passport country or country where you have permanent resident status. 

Examples Non O-A etc. 

If you actually have specific question best to ask.

Can I still apply in Asia (if I don't have 'permanent resident status' in Thailand), or do I have to fly back home to apply for Non O visas?

Forget about "permanent resident status" in Thailand. 

You can apply anywhere outside of Thailand for a tourist visa for Thailand or a Non O. 

You can even enter Thailand on visa exempt and apply for Non O within Thailand at local immigration office. 

Are your questions genuine.

That's what I meant; can I apply in every country now for Tourist, or Non O visas? (I know that I can enter visa exempt, but there are limits, factually, as for how often, right?)

 

Not asking, because I need a visa right now, but to understand eVisa regulations and practicalities... (Would be disappointing if I flew, say, to Singapore to apply for a Thailand visa, but found out that I cannot apply there.)

Missing the point. 

Yes you can apply outside of Thailand for eVisa for eg tourist visa, Non O etc. 

The enter visa exempt in my post was directed to fact you can obtain Non O from that entry. 

You cannot obtain a tourist visa from visa exempt entry.

So, the old 'Singapore, Manila, Bali, etc., Thailand embassy/consulate does not issue visas to foreigners' is still valid? I thought, the eVisa application is with a Thailand entity, and not with the local Thailand embassy/consulate, where I'm applying...

Those were just known to be more difficult (at some times - were easier/harder, in other years). 

 

The Japanese Thai-consulate was, however, a place which did not provide any sort of Visa service to those w/o Japanese residence - at all.  I have not heard of anyone applying there successfully, since the eVisa came out.  I wonder if they could, now? - good question.

 

As to visas restricted to application from country of residence (ex: METV), I would assume those restrictions are still in-place - but haven't heard of anyone trying to verify.

Yeah, I read posts about this back then. Guess, nothing has changed in this regard, even though you apply online now...

E-visa is exactly the same as the old system, just online.  It will still be sent to the embassy in the jurisdiction you are in. Some Thai embassies process applications for anyone, while some only process applications for citizens and residents in that country.  Nothing has changed in that regard.  Best to check the website of the embassy you will use to see what their policies and requirements are.
