Our local immigration office isn't far from home and every time I enter Thailand I send my wife to to TM.30 and encourage her to ask them to help her set up the app. She once had it on her old phone.

The website for this feature is was than dire.

She called them today and seems to think that they have told her that with TDAC (and me completing it) there's no need for TM.30 but will be a need for 90-days if I stay that long.

Is anyone else doing TM.30s these days now we have TDAC?

BTW I have a DTV.

As I write this, she's on the phone to them again.... and apparently there's no need because it's the same house.

TDAC is from the Tourism Authority, has nothing to do with immigration.

That is very obviously nonsense, the TDAC system is operated by immigration. The domain (tdac.immigration.go.th)  might give you a clue. The confirmation email also comes from immigration ([email protected]), and the IO you see when entering the country checks that you've submitted it.

But it just replaced the paper arrival card, so you're right that it doesn't change or remove the TM30 requirement.

As with the paper version, I'd guess they share some information with the TAT.

You must do both. They are not connected. The good news in CM is as long as you return to the same CM address as before you departed and that TM 30 is stapled in your passport, no need to do a new/another TM 30. If a new address in CM or elsewhere in the north from  one's previous stay, I would/must do a new TM 30.

I have been doing my own TM-30's for 12 years

MANY IO's have LOCAL requirements that are MORE than regulations state - mine requires a new TM-30

😁 basically if I use some other toilet than my own 🤣  - 1st hand knowledge. Maybe takes 30 total minutes out of my super busy retired life.

Basically a TM-30 is required within 24 hours of a NEW address - SOME offices also require a new one if you leave the country even returning to the same address

I'm 15 minutes from the LOCAL IO, and on the way is a 7-11 that is a usual stop every other day or when we return from a "holiday stay" somewhere, usually going to the IO on a Wednesday after 13:30 normally taking around 5 - 7 minutes in the IO - same with a TM-47.

There are ways to set up a ""online"" account to do  TM-30 and 47--- do it, it's in Thai & English  - no office visit required except a TM-47 after one 'renews' a 'extension of stay' - 1st TM-47 done in person at LOCAL IO.

Best you contact your LOCAL IO to learn THEIR POLICY ....IN PERSON.... not only phone, so you have a officers NAME to reference if needed.

You have not been doing your TM30 for 12 years. They enforced TM30 in 2018 only. There is an article about that.  Google "History of TM30 between 2018-2020".

I was at Jomtien yesterday, they are still requiring a TM30 irrespective of your visa type even if you are returning to the same address.

What did you need from immigration that required a TM30

Not sure what I needed but this is what immigration requires.
A completed TM30 form, a copy of the landlord's ID or passport, a copy of the house registration (Tabien Baan) or title deed, and a copy of the rental agreement (if applicable).
Additionally, the foreign resident will need to provide a copy of their passport (main page, visa, and latest entry stamp

So you cannot recall why you actually attended immigration.

Not many reasons folk attend immigration..

90 report in person. COR. Extension.

Transfer of stamps to new pp.  etc

I went to immigration to register my TM30 as is a requirement by Jomtien and do so every time I leave and return to Thailand.

When you say not many attend immigration I was there on Wednesday and it was very busy.

When registering the 90 days I was remanded that TM30 was necessary again. Hadn't done it for a while. Now I simply do it when returning to the country. The online works well and quick for us.
