I have seen few, if any of these English, "I hate my home" confessionals ever stating their actual home town or suburb. For example, London is enormous so that's an awfully broad brush there. I believe that Barnet and Epsom are really nice and desirable suburbs. Of course there's really sh*t bits of most towns and cities in the UK, but that's not necessarily because they've been overrun by Muslims, immigrants or those of a non-white ethnicity either. I visited Durham earlier this year and thought it was great.

 

All this negativity contributes to the self-feeding, self-destructive and self-loathing fake narrative of the whole country being like some Third World country, which it most definitely is not.

I go cycling at night in London to avoid the traffic and so I can suck in clear air. No set route and no restrictions on where I go. Always discovering and rediscovering. Not once has anyone approached me with a knife to stab me nor has anyone even looked threateningly at me. No attempts at criminality, nothing. 

What does happen is that every single person that I encounter, gives me a positive response to my greetings of good morning when the sun begins to rise. Every single person, regardless of colour, gender and age. In the parks, on the streets, everywhere.

 

Another thing, via the grapevine I heard that my mum needed help with putting up a new fence and pruning her trees(mum doesn't complain nor tell me), so I put the feelers out to find someone to do the job for her. Next thing I hear was that a couple of boys of the neighbours down the road were over and offered to do the job. They didn't want paying. My mum insisted on giving them something. I didn't ask as what colour they were. Likely they saw mum climbing up the tree and sawing away.

 

Treat people like humans and they will act like humans. London is great if you make it so. The miserable ones can make their way to Thailand, grab themselves a brown woman and throw stones at their country from afar. Miserable hypocrites.

 

 

 

 

I lived in London in the 1950s as a Yank kid.  Post-war London was actually a wonderful place to grow up as a kid.  I have many fond memories, and some not so fond.  That line in Pink Floyd's The Wall, "You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat." All true by golly. God only knows what we were fed in school lunches, but I can still remember the vein sticking out of a piece of grisly meat that the school authorities tried to force me to eat, and which I refused.  Even called in my father who fell squarely into my camp. And my dad was a WWII POW, and he flatly squared off in my corner, "My son's not eating that and I wouldn't eat it either."  But I get it.  Rationing was still in the minds of those Brit adults who survived the WWII bombing and rationing.  But - it was still a wonderful place.  Back then you could walk around Stonehenge unimpeded by fences. Sailed model sail boats in Kennsington's pond. We traveled to Scotland and Wales - I still remember it - just beautiful in its own grey, damp way.
Now? 
It's all descending into third-world bovine-excrement and Orwellian totalitarianism that has the sack to call itself a democracy with a little "d." You can have it.  America and Europe too.

I have checked all your posts in reply to mine where I dissect the video and point out out how and where it is being deliberately misleading.

We may as well leave it here unless you want to try and engage in a discussion about the content of the video which is what my post was about.

Still a great city IMO.  So much to see and do.  There are some dodgy areas (as there are in most large cities) but there aren't many better places of a similar size.  Bloody expensive though!

 

The UK as a whole is still a very nice place to live.

The thread is about London, for a long time a white minority city with hundreds of Mosques, daily stabbings, rampant shoplifting, phone, bag and watch snatching, graffiti all over the place and tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. Do you live there?

Visited London a few weeks ago and it was still amazing
The video is nothing like what i experienced 
Still a great city and enjoyed it .
London was amazing and to be honest apart from getting ripped off by a Turkish ice-cream seller outside the National history museum it was a great experience

Went to show my son Villa Park, now that was a different story. Rubbish everywhere 

I was expecting the UK to have changed like in the video but it was nothing like that (Maybe parts of Birmingham)
Liverpool/Manchester /Wales /The Cotswolds and Scotland were almost the same as 20 years ago apart from far far more expensive

I will never say Thailand has started to get expensive again
