A white minority city?

"In London, 53.8% of the population is white, according to the 2021 census. This includes those who identify as White British (36.8%) and those from other white backgrounds."

So it was almost a White minority city 4 years ago ..... so in 2025 it probably is a white minority city.  Thank you for the confirmation.

Great comment. It never ceases to amaze me how vitriolic and obsessive these anti-immigrant, hypocritical, brexiteer types are about a country that they have chosen to no longer live in.

Trump is chatting nonsense in his own vortex. On a day there was another mass shooting in America, he has the balls to go on about the UK.

Irony being there are more muslims per 100,000 people in America than the UK, more immigration in America than the UK - including masses of undocumented migrants from South America.

Who on earth wantts to live in America with gun crime out of control?

Yet there he is pontificating about safety and problems in the UK.

London is the 14th safest city in the world - safer than Bangkok to put it into context with crimes reported.

In both the United States and the United Kingdom, Islam is a significant minority religion, but their experiences and social integration differ. In the UK, Islam is the second-largest religion, with a larger percentage of the population identifying as Muslim (6.0%) than in the US (1.34%), according to the 2021 UK Census and 2020 US Religion Census. However, US Muslims tend to be more integrated into society and have a higher socioeconomic standing compared to their UK counterparts

How does it effect your life if the capital city is not majority white ?

Most capital cities, financial centres around the world are the same. I was in Dubai the other week, and didn't seem many local arabic faces either. What's the problem?

Surely the character of people, their goodness is more important than colour ?

The video is nothing like what i experienced
Still a great city and enjoyed it .

Nothing like the video because the video is a an anti-Islam set up.

I have checked all your posts in reply to mine where I dissect the video and point out out how and where it is being deliberately misleading.

Your responses to that post have been "Not too late to convert.  They love old white liberal men." and then a picture of Churchill. Pretty much nothing else. No substance. No rebuttal of anything I said, just silly insults.

We may as well leave it here unless you want to try and engage in a discussion about the content of the video which is what my post was about.

Good!  Continue checking.

Never too late for remedial reading classes.

Consider it.

Thailand was a lot nicer in 1983.

Not really. It was way poorer and dirtier.

Thailand was best around 2009-12. Perfect mix of the old and new world

Nah, much less poor tourists / expats (= immigrants) around who thought they were better than the locals.

You could buy a 4 BEDROOM house in the UK (outside London) for the price it costs to put ONE child through university in America - complete rip off.

We are very lucky in UK in some regards.

That's one way of looking at it.  Just don't post anything negative on social media and you'll probably be fine.

Why do you think you can't post anything negative on social media?

You can't incite people to violence or to set fire to hotels full of humans. But you can post all the negativity you like otherwise. Why would you think differently?

It is much broader and more arbitrary than that.  You all are crazy to give your government this much power over your mouth.  Oh yeah, you didn't give them this power, they took it.

Churchill must be rolling over in his grave.

You think it stops here?  Like I said, you already lost.

This was two years ago and its only gotten worse.  Google the videos of arrests.

What happened, you are supposed to be free men.

I was at Heathrow in 1971, in July, if this might be of any help.

I had just flown back from Bahrain, in fact.

The girls, meaning the stewardesses, at that time, were real girls.

I was very young, and polite.

They were much older than I, at that time, being in their 20enties....

They were all very nice girls.

In America at that time the stewardesses were young, sexy and wore mini skirts.

Now, grumpy old bags with Union seniority, especially on the long hauls.

In fairness, the passengers have descended into pajama wearing Greyhound bus clientele.

Compare and contrast.  Sorry you don't like the end, but honestly, neither do I.

Let's be honest, its not just London is it! The whole country has been transformed.

I left it all behind, burned the bridges etc when it became clear the country I knew was gone, it was no longer familiar and friendly. The neighbourhood was totally transformed.Foerign languages on cornershop windows.Abandoned furniture on the street, obvious enclaves of nationalities.Walking down what was the high street, didnt hear English being spoken during a 30 min walk of the town.

I felt like I was visiting a foreign country, it wasn't home anymore, that had sadly been consigned to memory and history.

The whole country!? Let's be honest, lower-cost neighborhoods where immigrants often settle due to affordability is probably where you were brought up and describe. More rural or affluent areas would see less of what you describe.

To me London and the UK were magical places. First time was in 1997 and loved it. Last visit was in 2004 and loved it as well. Took a London taxi for  and it was worth the 40 pound fare from Heathrow to central London. Just like in the movies the taxi driver was friendly and informative.  I grew up on British TV and it was a drem to visit London and the UK.  Cannot imagine what it's like now.

First British TV show I ever saw was UFO by the late Gerry Anderson.  It is still my favorite British TV.

Forty bloody quid blimey

I.m a londoner.live Thailand now.looking back it's the people who have changed not just their origin but their temperance, they ain't friendly anymore The city isn't proud any more, you don't see them cleaning their window or footsteps, you don't get a good morning mate.sooo bloody sad.

I am not sure why people don't want to see black and brown people in London. At one time the British depended on them and welcomed their help.

You left the UK and moved to Thailand because there is an annual 6-hour EID festival at Trafalgar Square?

That is what the video is mostly showing.

I was in central London just a couple of weeks back, and I thought I was in the Middle East.

Was that because of the hot summer weather?
