Question about pick up date for under consideration stamp. I’m going to apply for extension next month so just trying to plan a little bit if possible.

30 days from my current stamp falls on a Sunday. Do you think Immigration will have the pick up date for the remaining 11 months be on Friday or on Monday? Does anybody have experience with this? That would be extremely helpful and I am aware that it will ultimately just come down to Immigration‘s decision.

The reason I’m asking is because I am hoping to take a flight on that Saturday out of the country. So ideally, I would like to pick it up on Friday if possible and I will ask Immigration to do that. Just looking for anyone’s previous experience. Thank you.

You don't say where you're applying, and at least in Bangkok they switched to 21 day (3 week) under consideration stamps

However if you're at an office that still uses 30 day u/c stamps and it's added to your current expiration date, IF that date fell on a weekend I think they'd have you come in the following monday.

Seeing as you're intending to travel take proof you're leaving (flight confirmation) with you when you apply for the yearly extension and make sure to have the officer know you're fixing to fly out so if possible you can get the year extension inked in (and buy a re-entry permit) before you leave

From my experience the sooner in advance you apply, 45 days if applicable, the sooner the application is approved.

Certain Immigration offices I believe date the 30 day under consideration period from the date of submission, although my IO always date it from the expiry date of my current permission of stay.

I've applied in the past 45 days in advance and received approval before my current extension expired.

This year, I submitted 30 days in advance. Ext due 10th July, applied 10th June, under consideration until 9th August.

My IO always call once approved. They rang on 25th July to inform it had been approved.

You won't know your return to immigration for final stamp until you actually apply.

It would be wrong to think it's set formula of application date + 30 days.

Does your immigration office do home visits.

While a reentry permit can enable short stay out of Thailand it's really best to comple the extension prior to any trip

dunno what office you use, BUT that is the exception rather than the rule, at most offices you just show up on the date the U/C stamp runs out, (because as a rule that's when your file is sitting on someones desk waiting for you to turn up to get the year inked in)

I think the O/P should show that they will be out of the country when the 'standard' 30 day u/c stamp would run out and ask if there is a work around

Roi Et.

Always called every year for the last 10 years for extensions based on Thai spouse.
Maybe other IO's are too busy or too lazy to give a courtesy call.

Yes I am planning on going to apply about 15 days before my current extension is expired… so that would be about 45 total days between application and estimated final approval with the remaining 11 month stamp. Applying in Chiang Rai. They haven’t done a home visit since my first one about 7 years ago.

Yeah, I understand what you’re saying. But we’re just talking about a Friday or a Monday here. They never call here,  you just show up and pick it up on the date in the passport. I’ve never had my paperwork, not waiting for me. And have always gotten the stamp on the date.

So I’m just looking to see if anyone has ever had experience of their rough 30 day stamp falling on a weekend and if the pick up date was on Friday or Monday.
