And morons trying to get me to piss money away at a Ping Pong show.

What the hell is going on in Pattaya?  They lost all sense on how to attract paying customers!!!

If I wanted to go to India, I would have gone to New Dehli!

The Indian clubs are a high expense, went in with a friend, and she decided not to get a drink, San Miguel 350

The thing is, Pattaya beach road caters to the most prominent tourist group.  Right now, it is Indians. When it was all the Military, it was geared to what the soldiers wanted to eat.  Then it was geared to pleasing the Western and OZ male tourist.

5 years from now it will be a different shop and those pushing Indian food will be making something else.

They should add to the sign words in three parts at the top of the semi circle at the entrance:-

Left side "Naked women- We love you long time"

Middle top "Family Friendly - Checked by RTP.

Right side ""Naked women - No money no Honey"

Pattaya's iconic Walking Street is set to dazzle with a striking new 3D LED sign, transforming the entrance into a vibrant visual attraction. This high-tech addition, part of Pattaya's efforts to beautify its famed nightlife district, aims to become a must-see selfie spot for tourists.

Even though the towering sign is still under construction, it has already captured the attention of both locals and visitors. Many are eager to snap photos of what promises to be a bold and modern enhancement to the city’s aesthetic. City officials have fueled excitement online with posts saying, "Get your cameras ready!" as the project nears its completion.

However, while the LED spectacle lights up social media, there are growing calls from residents to address deeper issues along the famous strip. A recurring complaint is the traffic chaos caused by unregulated parking, particularly from songthaews, taxis, and ride-hailing cars. These vehicles often create gridlock at the street’s entrance, much to the frustration of pedestrians and drivers.

"Can we also fix the problem with the parked songthaews, taxis, and app-based cars? It gets so jammed there," lamented one resident online, reflecting widespread irritation with Pattaya’s persistent traffic issues.

While the new sign is welcomed by some as a sign of progress, there’s a plea for more substantial urban planning improvements. Locals are advocating for pedestrian-friendly pathways, safer crossings, and solutions to alleviate traffic congestion.

"Pattaya is improving, but we still need real changes—not just signs," noted a resident, highlighting the desire for meaningful enhancements beyond cosmetic upgrades. Such improvements, they argue, are vital if Pattaya is to achieve its ambition of being a world-class tourist destination.

Despite these concerns, city officials are optimistic that the digital display will draw more tourists and boost Pattaya's global image. They acknowledge some temporary disruptions due to ongoing construction, asking for residents' patience during this period.

As Pattaya balances flashy developments with the need for infrastructure improvements, the city continues to attract both admiration and critique. With the new sign set to become a sparkling emblem of Walking Street, the challenge remains to address the underlying issues that affect daily life in this bustling city.

Now if they could only get rid of the stink coming off the great unwashed indians that frequent walking street.

I wonder if they can even make the sign right. We will need to stay tuned to find out if it functions correctly.

Now this was the  Good Old Days Pattaya..

That will keep me well away. What a bloody racket that can be. It was an issue in Kuta, Bali when I was there last.

Fully agreed, and no, that was just for the beer

Can't p[ut the name but a hint it is what you PC call the guy you  work for or your other half

It will be in 3D, apparently. A pair of silicon enhanced busters zooming in to captivate and thrill the watching hordes. I can't wait.

Would this fatuous waste of money be better spent on footpaths; pothole filling; police?

I think they have finally killed that tree..although the trunk is still there festooned with  offerings to the spirits.

Hope they still have money left to fixed those terrible pavement all over Pattaya.
