Featured Replies

Hmm, long term “permanent relationships = 49 years. With my current Thai Wife, 8 years … 4 married. I do believe this is the last relationship. Fortunately for me each was an advancement am I do think I have reached the best possible!

  • Yes, plain English. Met 10 years ago: together 9, married 3. The math sums to 12, in English anyway.

  • You were with her for two years before you met her?

  • None of your business. None of my business.

Yea, we been together 50 yrs and will be till we're done.  We met when I was stationed here and married in USA, she arrived on fiancees visa I got her in 1975.. She was a US resident till 2019 when we retired here.  Met a lot of X GI-Thai couples in USA and most of them didn't last.  But also met a few that had been married since the 60's & 70's  and were going strong.. In that long marriage crowd there were a whole lot of characters both his's and her's.  This gig isn't for everyone.. But sure hasn't been boring either..

Okay, just to explain for you, and listen carefully, out of those 9 years, we have been married 3 😉 Hope this helps. And English is not my first language so bear with me 😄

I wish my Thai was as good as your English.

My problem is, I read a different meaning in to the sentences, and it have been like this since I was a kid.

I read: I wish my wife was as good as your English.

And I have found out that is called dyslexia. Never new, and nobody told me before I started to have discussions online.

Same reading books, I have to stop and think what is the real meaning here, and go back many pages to catch up

Not having dyslexia, I don't know what it's like.  I only thought dyslexia affected the way you would see letters, not in seeing one word and interpreting it as another.

Still, your English is pretty good and my Thai is not.

It also happens when Im writing, and autocorrect can be a pain in the butt hole for me. So many times I writing, leave it and coming back and read again, I see the mistakes.
