In a bid to bolster public confidence and cater to international tourists, the Pattaya City Police Station has embarked on the bold Royal Thai Police (RTP)'s Clean Station campaign. Launched by Police Colonel Anek Sarathongyoo, this initiative is a sweeping five-step programme designed to align the station’s standards with global expectations through enhanced cleanliness and organisation.

“Pattaya serves as a gateway city for travellers worldwide,” stated Pol. Col. Anek. “We want visitors to feel welcome, safe, and respected as soon as they walk through our doors. Cleanliness is the cornerstone of professionalism.”

This transformative campaign, already in motion, consists of the following key measures:

  1. Fostering a Culture of Cleanliness: Officers are now expected to maintain tidy workspaces and participate in a Big Cleaning Day at least once a month to reinforce discipline and pride in their environment.
  2. Clear Division of Responsibilities: Designated teams are responsible for high-traffic areas such as investigation rooms and detention cells. Each zone has a supervisor to ensure daily checks and adherence to cleanliness standards.
  3. Enhancing User-Friendly Spaces: Public areas will be upgraded with clear signage, greenery, and well-maintained surroundings, including car parks and flagpole zones, to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  4. Raising Restroom Standards: Restrooms will undergo cleaning twice daily, with accountability through visible signage indicating responsible staff. Separate facilities for officers and the public will enhance order and hygiene.
  5. Continuous Evaluation and Feedback: Public satisfaction will be gauged through monthly reviews and feedback forms accessible via QR codes displayed throughout the station.

Pol. Col. Anek stressed the importance of community involvement, saying, “Feedback from the community will help us continuously improve. This isn’t just about appearance—it’s about trust.”

The police station is actively promoting the initiative on its official Facebook page, inviting locals and visitors alike to share their feedback and join efforts in keeping the station welcoming and pristine.

This move comes at a crucial time, as Pattaya seeks to enhance its image as a tourist-friendly destination. By ensuring the police station reflects the professionalism and hospitality expected by international visitors, the campaign aims to build lasting trust and a sense of safety among those who pass through its doors.

In helping transform Pattaya City Police Station into a model of cleanliness and efficiency, the Clean Station campaign is poised to set a new benchmark for police facilities across the region. With a focus on engagement and transparency, the officers of Pattaya are not just cleaning up their station, but also polishing the city’s global reputation.

You beat me to it, exactly correct it should be the norm & not something to pat ones back as an exception to the rule

I have this Keystone Cops image of them moving everyone out of the holding cell while some old Cambodian lady comes in to mop up... and there being a few missing when they put them back in.

Me thinks new boss. Good man, now things will really change.

I used to work in there as a tourist volunteer (only at the help desk as we pretty well had languages covered).

Was interesting.

Raise the standard to PTT blue - those women do a great job, but a lil more than twice a day.

Cleaning up Pattaya police force once a month!  It's not got any cleaner, in my view, during the last 20 years.

Wow, "clean cells" press release complete with interview...

guess what, The BiB, this will not scrub your reputation clean, no matter how much bleach is used. :coffee1:

Didn't tidy or organise the photo very well, no smiling face, chest out, or pointing parade, must add that to the list!!

Not a bad thing to do, but a bad thing to boast about. It should be a given that a police station is clean and tidy and their focus should be on actual policing duties.

Hire sufficient cleaning staff with a responsible supervisor would be my recommendation. Get actual policemen to do actual police work.

They are so corrupt. A few weeks ago I watched two officers scamming parked motorbike owners on South pattaya Road. They put a lock on a bike, wait for an owner and accept cash to release. Farang and Thai.

Can anyone in the world compare anything  that relates to such a high level RTP officer dishing out such a bull..hit regulation. Is it not more important to state "no more corruption and focussing on no taking bribes and do not pass the extra tea money further up the command order ladder", as being more appropriate?
