Im not going to retire before I have to. Work is part of a good life which gives daily routines

Working 8 hours a day and commuting 2 hours is too much.

No time to take care of your health, or do other things.

We are being worked to death and then told to retire.

No need to fully retire.

I prefer to work part time until I die, but AI will take over more and more.

With the morons we see daily in person and in the news that is an horrific thought.

  • Amazing! I wonder how this could be achieved. I'm 79 ½ and I lose more power with every single passing day...

  • That will definitely bankrupt the welfare systems.

Who talking about commuting? Most of my life I lived on or close to the work place. Only temporary in my life did I work so-called normal schedules like 8-4 and had to commute during rush hours. I couldn’t do it for millions a year.

Part time is good for most retirees

There’s Brian Johnson, the US entrepreneur who reportedly spends $2 million a year and takes over 50 supplements daily to try and stay young.

But if you’ve got that kind of money to spend, the world,

his wife & maybe even their dog are going to be coming out of the woodwork to help. 😁

He doesn’t actually look very young; you can tell he’s dyed his hair. Nothing wrong with that.

He’s also had surgery, again nothing wrong with that.

But it’s not really natural, considering what he’s trying to achieve, I don't think.

Up to he..555

Reminds me of a good song by Jason and the Scorchers, "When The Angels Cry,..

When The Angels Cry"

(D. Schlitz, J. Ringenberg)

Down here on the planet earth
They line you up on the day of your birth
Give you a number, call it a name
Put you on go, and they turn on the game

Standing in a long straight line
You learn to do as you are told
A three-foot wall on either side
A uniform to keep you cold

Down here on the planet earth
A dollar sign is what you're worth
They dig you a hole, they fill it back in
Then they tell you to do it all over again

And laying in your bed at night
You learn to dream as you are told
A three-foot wall keeps out the light
And while you sleep, you're bought and sold

When the angels cry
No one asks them why
When the angels cry
They only shed a tear
Then they disappear

Down here on the planet earth
They steal your back, they leave your shirt
They pay you a penny and call it a dime
Then they give you a watch when you run out of time

And sometimes when the skies are blue
You hear the moan of heaven's wind
Saying "I wanted more for you"
It's there and then it's gone again....................

Grandfather of AI says that by 2034 robots will be smarter than humans!  just what are all those living today going to find to survive for the rest of their lives?

I've met plenty of humans who don't even come close to ChatGPT version 3, never mind the new version 5 which came out a couple of days ago.

Oh and I wouldn't listen to Hinton too much, he's a raging commie who thinks all AI should be controlled by central government.

If you think wokeness is the end of humanity, I feel sorry for you 😁

Irony at its best 🤔

Bryan Johnson is pale as a ghost.

He appears to vehemently avoid sun exposure.

Most people who live longest live in the "blue zones" ,where there is abundant sunshine and people spend a lot of time outdoors. Costa Rica, Sardinia, Okanawa -- all sunny places.

Supplements can help. But very costly and most people cannot afford that many.

Maybe millionaires will live longer because the rest of us will not be able to afford the fancy supplements / drugs / therapies for life extension.

Remains to be seen if new technologies will be affordable.

David Sinclair is another longevity guy. But he isn't muscular and doesn't appear to go to the gym ever. Probably better to train if you want to stay healthy.

There is a competition going on. The prize is 101 Million USD to the team that can figure out how to add 20 years of lifespan to human beings. I think the deadline is 2030. So some people predict there will be a major breakthrough in longevity by then.

They will have to increase the pension age then!

people are already losing their jobs to AI plus the govt just fired 150000 though they will pay them through next month, fewer jobs available, now instead of a bachelors one must have a masters or phd to get hired, yeah they may force the illegals out that were working crap jobs but I sure don't know anyone legally in the US that would do half of those anyway people can't hardly make it today with prices increasing, health insurance or medical costs zooming, house purchases and rents beyond the average worker now, what will happen as they cut the amount of social security that for many is their only source of income?  Seems like a scary situation that will make folks do some drastic things calling for attention.

Im not sure what wokeness is that makes it more dangerous than magas,

Can’t see any wrong with this? Can’t help people abuse and use different terms for worse or to label someone with a negative connection.

A socialist is one of the same where you believe everyone has the same rights, and we have to care for our next of kind. Nothing wrong with that either.

Every word with meanings can be misrepresented, and I think you know that

"Woke" initially referred to a state of awareness of social and racial injustice, particularly within the Black community. It evolved from a term used to signal vigilance against systemic issues and racial bias to a more broadly used term associated with social justice movements. However, it has become a highly contested term, often used as a political label, sometimes with negative connotations, especially by some on the right

I assume you believe Joe Biden was an excellent president. In which case I have no hope for you

That's just it, isn't it. I mean imagine if from an early age you would not waste all your energy to prepare for a career to make money, but instead practiced yoga, meditation, weight training, cardio. And in addition if you were fully aware of the actual truth about nutrition, and consumed a low-calorific diet? From the start.

Hydro therapy, regular sex, full social life with close friends, a dog, and all this since day one. Perhaps you could add 30 years.

But 900? Consciousness transfer into a computer? Do me a favour. That's just nonsense.

Sure, you can have an artificial heart, artificial limbs, artificial circulation, but I think this article is getting carried away.

Biden was to old, so are the new guy, and he is a lunatic as well. So what was your point?

Sorry, you can't afford it. Only for the trillionairs.

Doesn't make much difference, unlimited medical expenses for men born in the 1950s increases their average lifespan from 74 years to ............ 75 years.

This sort of hype is the modern (lay) version of "Life after Death".

It will not come to pass. People have stopped dying massively of heart attacks, only to die of malignancies a few years later. Those who escape malignancies awaits Alzheimer's.

Modern medecine is very good at prolonging but very poor at healing.

Have to understand why people die in the first place. We undergo 5 changes of body before the age of 23. Only one after.

It's not in nature's interest to keep humans alive after aged 90 or so.

Medicine can't heal. Only the body can heal.

"Heal" can be used as a transitive verb. When transitive the verb "to heal" means "to cure".

The body both cures and heals itself. Medicines/procedures/jabs can aid, or, more usually, harm that natural process.

  • 1 month later...

Love of nature will see us through to reach our true destiny. Only through respecting, and understanding nature, can most people achieving their true health potential.

Don't know about 1000 years; but 120/150 years is probably possible. And the way to do that is to watch how nature goes about its business, and utilising modern technology. Need to forward to the past.

Interesting. Sharks never stop moving. Is that a clue to long life?

And those giant tortoises move; but not too fast. Big clue there.

wrong nutrition is one of the main reasons to lifestyle health problems, environment and sit to much a good number two and three.

Hawkins lived a long life with a healthy brain, so sitting can't be the main reason?
