Jomtien 90 day report - it just got better.

Featured Replies

Personally, I don't understand this surprise: in Jomtien, and elsewhere, I've never had any problems whatsoever regarding the 90 days. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I certainly do not see the silliness of having to get up and go to an agent, probably twice, and pay, when on-line is completely free and one need not go anywhere. I suppose needing a laptop and printer is the only reason. Also most agent offices, and immigration itself, is a good distance from where I live, and Pattaya is hardly an easy place to drive around and find parking. I went Bolt both ways last time, added to the cost.

Ummm, you don't need to go to any agent. All you do is text the agent via Line.

Which is of course much easier than doing it yourself online.

Don't use Line.  Put it on my phone once and found it a nuisance. But fair enough, as easy as using the laptop.

Not sure why people do it online when they can get an agent to do for them online.

Ad/or waste 800 Baht for the service  like my friend in Jomtien.

And he is not wealthy.

How is it "waste", you send a text, and people do the online reporting for you and send you the hard copy via mail. Could not get more convenient.

Paying for that service 800 baht is well worth it, since you don't have to bother with anything. You pay for convenience. A very fair price.

Yes it could, do it yourself online is far more convenient.

Lol, no it's not, it's you having to do all the work with a website that doesn't work most of the time.

What a waste of time.

How many examples are there actually of that? I only ask in that I have had no issues certainly for the last 2 years - touch wood.......555

I also would not call 5 minutes max to fill in the fields to be in any way onerous........

It takes considerable longer than 5 minutes. In any event a text to the agent takes 60 seconds. You'll never beat that.

Never had issues, you are creating a strawman.

'All the work! with a website is easier than driving 20 KM and getting into a scrum at immigration.  Just another agent shill!

No, if you send a text that takes 60 seconds, obvbiously you're not driving to immigration. Clearly that's a strawman argument you're making.

The point is my reporting takes me 60 seconds, and yours takes you a lot longer.

How much do you pay the agent for this free service?

Just done this: 5 minute wait to reach the counter, documents checked then shown to the next counter a metre away. The officer there took a minute to write me a new slip, gave me my passport back and said cheerfully "go home". All told 6 minutes in and out.

Terrific service, just as long as you have all your paperwork in order.

Well done to the staff there for the improvement.

Thats how it is in Kanchanaburi too except its 1 window. 5 min. max

Maybe he was actually talking about NO money, as those rich lawyers from the UK are those that use agents because they don't have the 400/800K to show.

A lot of....maybes ....maybe

I've been doing online for many years but with a new passport you need a new tm30 and 90 day report in person.

I assumed next ones could be done online.

But no.

Was told I won't be able to do online again before exiting and reentering Thailand.

I had read your post so I was extra careful to ask and can confirm they are telling people they must exit and re-enter to use the online system.

My agent did mine, supposedly free along with my extension a few times, although usually the two do not align. Using the free  online takes very little time and in my case I also want to avoid the trip to immigration. Have friends who live in the View Talays who always harp on about strolling round there, but for me it is a half hour drive that I far from find pleasure in.
