Have you noticed how silent the Trump supporters are at this moment? I think even they are astounded at the extreme level of surrender by Trump, at this summit meeting. Yikes.

hey have nothing to say, their loss is tremendous, their only option is to start a topic about a guy who threw a sandwich, sheer desperation

It must feel pretty awful at this moment being a Trump supporter, and seeing the extreme level of incompetence that they are supporting and his complete fealty to Putin.

No, they just don't see it.

The Putin–Trump summit wasn’t about peace or Ukraine.
It was about Putin’s kompromat — The Epstein Files.
Epstein claimed he met Putin in Moscow (Michael Wolff).

Putin holds all the cards — while Trump nods like a Pinocchio marionette.

Trump just missed his deadline.
Sanctions and tariffs on Putin were due — but now he’s stuck.

Do them, and Putin spills Epstein.
Duck them, and he’s the taco clown again.

Either way, it’s lip service on demand — Putin’s got him by the b*lls.
And Trump’s playing Guess the Tune Chains

Actually we are more surprised by former peace loving lefties wanting millions more to die rather than having their nemesis deliver a peaceful end to the conflict.

It is so sad to watch.  These people are so obsessed with Trump that they can not see where their top notch, high intellect, high integrity, 'democratically' elected European leaders are taking them.

This was one of the last off-ramps, there are no u-turns on this road. If European intransigence prevents a deal from happening I assume we'll be leaving NATO.  There was already strong support for this.  We are not going to war with Russia, the American people won't allow it.

Do they not see that this ends in total war, a war that likely leads to nuclear exchanges if they were capable of winning, which they are not.  Do they not comprehend the real consequences of war or do they really believe their cause so righteous (with plenty of evidence to the contrary), that they just don't care.

I guess we can always rely on Europeans to show the world what a real war looks like.  With condescension for the warnings, off they go, sheep to the slaughter again.

I've been saying this for years. And I will continue to say it.

Trump is completely owned by Putin. Owned.

We have over a decade of solid evidence. It never ends. Man, is Trump absolutely terrified of upsetting Putin! Putin must have some really strong material on Trump.

Is this "solid evidence" you speak of Adam Schiffs "in plain sight" fantasy? Or the fantasy Hillary and lefty msm concocted? Or some other deranged nonsensicsl theory borne through irrational hatred?

america, you allowed an indicted war criminal on your turf, and you let him go... shame on you

Putin is clearly an enemy of the western world, and he is a genocidal maniac dictator, yet Trump greets him warmly, rolls out the red carpet, gives him a pleasure ride in the limousine, and talks so kindly of him after the unsuccessful summit, in which Putin yielded nothing.

It is a fascinating exercise in negotiations and political leadership to compare a tiny man like Trump to a towering giant like Churchill, who was arguably one of the top heroes of the past century. Without his leadership and courage who knows where the world would be today.

This was a quote from him during his address of the joint session of Congress on December 26th, 1941.

You do not, I am certain, underrate the severity of the ordeal to which you and we have still to be subjected. The forces ranged against us are enormous. They are bitter, they are ruthless. The wicked men and their factions, who have launched their peoples on the path of war and conquest, know that they will be called to terrible account if they cannot beat down by force of arms the peoples they have assailed. They will stop at nothing. They have a vast accumulation of war weapons of all kinds. They have highly trained and disciplined armies, navies and air services. They have plans and designs which have long been contrived and matured. They will stop at nothing that violence or treachery can suggest.

Provided that every effort is made, that nothing is kept back, that the whole manpower, brain power, virility, valor and civic virtue of the English-speaking world, with all its galaxy of loyal, friendly or associated communities and states-provided that is bent unremittingly to the simple but supreme task, I think it would be reasonable to hope that the end of 1942 will see us quite definitely in a better position than we are now. And that the year 1943 will enable us to assume the initiative upon an ample scale.

Some people may be startled or momentarily depressed when, like your President, I speak of a long and a hard war. Our peoples would rather know the truth, somber though it be. And after all, when we are doing the noblest work in the world, not only defending our hearths and homes, but the cause of freedom in every land, the question of whether deliverance comes in 1942 or 1943 or 1944, falls into its proper place in the grand proportions of human history.

Sure I am that this day, now, we are the masters of our fate.

After the outrages they have committed upon us at Pearl Harbor, in the Pacific Islands, in the Philippines, in Malaya and the Dutch East Indies, they must now know that the stakes for which they have decided to play are mortal. When we look at the resources of the United States and the British Empire compared to those of Japan; when we remember those of China, which have so long valiantly withstood invasion and tyranny-and when also we observe the Russian menace which hangs over Japan-it becomes still more difficult to reconcile Japanese action with prudence or even with sanity. What kind of a people do they think we are? Is it possible that they do not realize that we shall never cease to persevere against them until they have been taught a lesson which they and the world will never forget?

What a statesman, what an orator, what a man, and what an astonishing contrast to current day leadership, or lack thereof.

You could see it in Trump's face after the meeting... Still, I wouldn't call it a total disaster yet. Just let them meet once more to get a clearer picture.

I honestly didn't pick up on that and he seemed normal in clips right after the press conference too, maybe a little hoarse. I should have been more clear though, I think reading too much from body language is kind of silly. Hell, you can't take half of what Trump says publicly seriously and remain sane.

But just assuming you are correct, this is not a trade negotiation, this is a matter of war and peace on a continental scale, if not greater.  He may well know, that the odds of him being able to stop this disaster from escalating are not good.  Many of the posters here mirror the positions of European leadership.  Sometimes war fever has just one cure.  But the Russian's prepared for this contingency and the regret for mocking the one world leader trying to put a stop to this will be profound.

Well, most of the major European leaders are heading to Washington tomorrow, along with Zelinsky. Obviously there are things to discuss.

This conflict is just one of the many sh!t sandwiches that were left behind by the previous administration, lets hope a deal can be made to end the killing.

Meant in which Trump yielded nothing. Big error. Dictators always get the better of Trump and he should never be allowed to negotiate anything with them.
