Something Is Up With My Neighbor

Featured Replies

I had a new neighbor move in a month ago in my condo. He sits in his room and runs the a/c pretty much all day and night, but on/off so I know he is in there.  I can hear it from my balcony. He never seems to leave the room. Leaves trash bags in the hallway occasionally. I never hear him open or closing the front door like most people would.

Do other people do this? Seems strange. His electric bills must be huge.

  • Sounds like you're in the room all day obsessing on him...

He's probably an AN FORUM member, got a few strange people here    We have a few here that sit behind their keyboard, all day and night.

  • But if you hear your neighbour's a/c turning on/off and running "pretty much all day", suggests to me that you don't get out much either.

I'm tired of hearing his a/c running. Not real loud, more like a drone sound.

Do you not run yours?

Why not go introduce yourself?

Nope. I'm a fan guy. Never got into a/c.

No, it's just going every time I'm there.

Turn the TV up , play some music louder, turn on your own aircon, get a white noise machine..go out shopping, walking or sit in the common area..or as suggested introduce yourself and sit in his airconed room all day  saving some baht ! 😋

Turn the fans up to full blast  that's a quite good white noise machine that should mask the sound of his aircon.

Do other people monitor their neighbors like you do? Doubt it, seems strange.

It's hard to not think about with the sound. That's the whole point, it distracts my attention that way.

As you stated to be the owner of the condo.....you should consider to terminate his contract.

I totally understand where you’re coming from.

The nerve of some people.  Thinking they can use their air conditioner freely in one of the hottest countries on the planet.

I can hear my neighbor shut his door sometimes.   I mean….what is he thinking!?   He can just come and go as he pleases?

Wait till you get a mortar and pestle fanatic banging away at 3 oclock in the morning that's rather distracting !

I've stayed in a few condos and can't remember hearing neighbours let alone their aircons from my room.

Get used to it, or move. The noise level of an aircon is not something you can take to the juristic person as a complaint.

A/C on 24/7 is around 5000 Baht per month for a fairly small condo, I think.

At least he doesnt stay on his balcony naked?

I stayed in a hotel and the guy next to me used to go naked on his balcony.

I couldn't use the balcony.

Be thankful for that.

Is that a euphemism?

Fortunately, it's on a balcony wall, I can't see over there. It could be worse.

He probably cut up some people. So he needs the room to be cool lest the bodies decompose too fast.

pffff !!  5555  well  there are occasional loud 'sex noises'  but the mortar and pestle fanatics  can actually disturb the whole condo and often have more stamina than the sex fanatics...they have woken me up many more times...
