Ban guns before you start praying

Why do you keep insisting that you know better than me what I mean and continually attempt to put words in my mouth?

I have acknowledged that introducing tighter gun control legislation will (almost) certainly result in taking some people's guns away. HOWEVER, as I have already stated, THAT IS A BY-PRODUCT. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO SAVE LIVES, IN PARTICULAR, THE DEATHS OF INNOCENT BYSTANDERS. IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU? (Shouting is obviously sometimes necessary).

Maybe reducing speed limits and taking alcohol off the markets wouldn't be such a bad idea, however, I am not that naive to believe that the latter has any chance of happening.

However, these are poor analogies. Firstly, very few deaths by reckless driving are pre-meditated homicides - yes, I'm aware that cars have by driven into crowds in Europe but these are very isolated incidents - and secondly, alcohol and - to a large extent - car related deaths are self-inflicted. Moreover, in the case of alcohol abuse death is an unfortunate, involuntary end result.

Because it is a potentially lethal weapon that in the wrong hands can cause untold damage. I would have thought that much at least would be intuitively obvious.

Are you now arguing that I should be able to pop down to the local corner shop and buy an AK-47 at the same time as I purchase a pint of milk?

Why mention this? I know that, and never suggested otherwise. I suppose I should be grateful that it is something we agree upon.

Correlation has been established, causation has not.

Not for the first time, you are repeating yourself. I have already addressed this matter. The studies compared seven developed nations and therefore have validity.

At best, you are misinterpreting what I say, at worst it is another example of misplaced arrogance in trying to tell me that you know me better than I do so myself!

I work on the premise that rational people would like to eliminate unnecessary deaths. However, your incessant pedantic objections do lead me to question that premise.

This exchange has long since lost any meaning it might possibly once have had so I'm done with it. Believe what you will and call yourself the winner if it makes you feel good.

Having an honest discussion makes me feel good, unfortunately, you are unable or at least unwilling to do that.

Go with God brother.

I dont even know what you're trying to say?

Sorry, didn't realize how dim it is where you are.

Not about you.

I was referring to people who killed themselves with the guns they brought into their homes.

Well known that the most likely person to be shot by a gun in private hands is the gun owner.

Hence...

Do you think people should not be allowed to commit suicide?

Not every household has kids, and if you're a responsible gun owner they are locked in a safe!

Ah, right, so if an intruder comes in (which you are all terrified of - we aren't in the UK), if they are waving a weapon, you're going to dash to your safe, enter the code, take out your gun, make sure the safety is off and the gun is safely loaded, and then go and SHOOT HIM IN THE FACE!!

How long would that take exactly?

Who said I'm terrified, I'm prepared just like I have car, home owners, health insurance incase something happens.

I dont have kids so it's easily accessible, however I do have a trigger lock (which comes off in 5 seconds).

Keep this in mind before you decide how to feel about it.

I don't think those links have the closeup video, which is very graphic.  Lots of blood.  Wish I could unsee it.

Ironically he just talked about the 2. amendment when he was shot due to witnesses. Anyway, still not a good reason to shoot him. Somthing is terribly wrong in USA. Horrible wrong

Reading is fundamental.

After the 1995 Oklahoma bombing the left tried to blame the bombing on AM radio.   Then fast forward to 2011.

This blame game got into high gear by the left after the Gabby Gifford was shot.  They tired to pin it on Sarah Palin.

Thanks the left, since the Gabby Gifford shooting everything is a partisan mess.

I have experienced a home invasion by a man who before breaking into my house, told someone else he was going to kill me.

As fortune had it, I was preparing to go to a shooting range to practice with my M1911, .45 caliber, hand gun.   I was carrying it in a holster attached to my belt as I walked from the bedroom, into the living room, headed to the kitchen.   I forget why I was going to the kitchen.

The man that wanted to kill me broke into my house in 4 seconds.  He kicked the door four times and was inside the living room in 4 seconds.

First kick and I was, WTF is that?

Second kick, I saw the door move, and I unholstered my pistol.

Third kick, I saw the door frame splinter and the door swung open, 3 seconds in all.

When the door swung open he stepped into my living room to see me with a pistol pointed at his chest.   He stopped, stared, turned and left!

I was fortunate that I did not have to go get my pistol, load a magazine in it, chamber a round, and take 5 seconds to remove a trigger lock!

When you own a gun, you practice, and also visualize scenarios, but still most people panic or freeze in real situations. For half of the people, guns are useless without real training

I need to practice more.  Rifle is my preferred firearm.   I have an SBR for in the home, tipped with a suppressor.

For home defense rifle is not especially practical tho,

Why not get rid of the 18th amendment?

Can't?

But then, the 21st amendment did that.

Everything is possible.

A lot of people just like collecting guns, or just like target shooting, or like hunting, or just feel safer with them.

Speech is much more dangerous to some than guns.

U.S. of A. democrat marxist party tyranny is much more dangerous than firearms!

It has led to antifa, blm, that has caused billions of dollars of damage to public and private property, hundreds, or is that thousands, of people injured, and many deaths.

But the democrat marxist party and their supporters keep crying about those, extreme, right wing, extremists!  How many billions of dollars of property damage have they caused?

Why would I do that? I doubt you even believe that nonsense you linked too.

They ONLY count people that admit to have sworn allegiance to organizations.

That’s rich. Just more deflection coming from a lame deflector.

Just look at your own charts and see how silly they are.

First, they only include deaths, so other violence, like leftist riots are not counted.

Second, why are the 35 BLM riot deaths counted as right wing?
