Cool Guns I have Known and Loved

These are my house guns (in the US) . The suppressors  (Silencers) are easy on the ears when shooting intruders.

Glock 19 (9mm) and Ruger Mk IV 22/45 (22. Cal). Approved of, and encouraged by, the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County Florida.

  • So we've just had the Minnesota massacre on another thread, and you have started a thread on cool guns.

  • My first and still favorite gun to shoot is a Ruger Mark 1 Target model with the heavy 6-7/8" barrel.   I paid $140 for it (new) back in college and back then, I could shoot it all afternoon for about

6. CONCLUSION

Guns are ubiquitous, easy to access, and intrinsically linked to both US culture and the risk of suicide, violence, and injury. However, they are not, by and large, a mental health problem.

Thank you for reading.

So are they a medium sized or a contributing factor? Or perhaps the obsession with firearms by some is indeed a manifestation of mental illness.

People die everyday on the roads, yet discussion of cool cars & scooters are fine.

This is a Sig Sauer P938, a great small 9mm for concealed carry. Fits perfectly in the side pocket of cargo shorts.

Cars and scooters are not designed and made with the express purpose of killing people.

Perhaps you have not heard of false equivalence.

Winchester Model 70 in .243 and .270. Ithaca Deerslayer in 12 gauge. Browning BSS in 12 gauge. Marlin .22 magnum. Smith & Wesson Model 19- .357 magnum. Browning Bl-22- .22.

Right.

If people dying were what they were worried about they'd be having fits about drunk drivers, drug users etc but they aren't.
They just choose to virtue signal and look like idiots.

OP -  it'd be easier to say what I haven't owned.  An M134, If I had FU money I'd have one

When someone kills with a gun, it's because they intend to.

When someone kills with a vehicle, it would be very rare they do it with lethal intent.

See the difference?

In the aftermath of a mass shooting of children in church that picture is about as sick as it gets.

And that someone usually acquired the gun, illegally.

When owning either legally, they kill by operating either irresponsibly, and yet, you can purchase another vehicle after your conviction.

Banning guns is like banning drugs, it doesn't solve anything, except leave those in high crime areas, unprotected.

Or .. shutting down gun shops is like shutting the borders, somehow, amazingly, people still have access to violate the law.

Used to own and shoot a 1915  DWM 9" barrel 9mm artillery Luger cut for shoulder stock when I lived in UK. Loved that gun.

Also owned and shot black powder Colt Navy, .36 and Remington .44 new model army.

By FAR......

The 0.54 caliber muzzle loader (black powder) with cap is the greatest gun I ever owned.

Lot's of fun to shoot.

Much better than any more modern firearm.

The data from Australia is indisputable.  Banning semi-automatic weapons drastically reduced our incidence of mass shootings.

After all, semi-automatic weapons have one purpose only - to kill people as quickly and efficiently as possible. They are not a hunting weapon.

Australians can still own firearms. However, having a prohibited weapon is at least 10 years jail in most states.

Your Founding Fathers did not foresee semi-automatics.

Yes, Yes, Yes.

I am also into black powder guns, sorry no pics left them In Sweden 20 years ago.

How many people here have ever been that "good guy with a gun" at a shooting incident?

I have used guns for target practice, but only rifles.

Apples & oranges .. as usual.

An island, easy to stop illegal immigrants, drug gangs and firearms from entering, compared to the USA.

Founding fathers also didn't foresee drug cartels, and drug turf wars.

Constitution, 2nd Amendment = Freedom from extreme tyranny, and sadly, that comes with that scrambled egg / collateral damage thingy, that comes with criminal activity

You can't take guns away from US citizens, as long as you have criminals being very well armed.   US citizens must have the ability to protect themselves from criminals, oh yea, and from the tyranny of govt.

What happens outside of the USA, is totally irrelevant.  Yes, the system is totally broken, and another reason for the 2nd Amendment.  When citizens don't need firearms, then you can restrict their sales.

Let me know when it's safe to walk down any street, and their is no crime, and you can trust your govt.   Take away your right to bear arms, and all your other rights will soon disappear also.   If not for firearms, (and France (thank you) King Charles, would be ruling.  How embarrassing would that be ???

The usual parade of excuses and rationalizations for the only valid reason for owning guns - you like them, or even love them.

I brought up my son in a country where children do not need training in how to avoid getting shot at school.

You just keep killing your kids, and offering your BS "thoughts and prayers". It's what your refusal to change deserves.

Did ya shoot it with the stock? Surprisingly accurate. I saw Kaiser Willys Luger Carbine in the German Hunting and Fishing Museum. Gorgeous.

I had several Broomies with stocks, total fun.

Reckon it made too much sense.

I have not owned a firearm since I was a kid, but I like the Sig P226, model 94 30-30, 700 in 22-250.

The Sig P226 is very nice, as I sold one to a bud of mine.   Hands on, and I really liked it.
