Well, as it is now, I'm thinking about one apartment with sea view for my elderly days, so with 300 million I could wait another 20 years, and not invest the next few years when a good opportunity comes.

I started seeing more of these guys you refer to around my condo, particularly the pool area. Guys with a younger Thai female who kind of tags along and it vibes as a freelancer just by the way the couple interacts.

 

There is something odd about the guys. I can't really call it a power trip but they don't act like other guys who are just hanging out around the area. They keep to themselves and don't interact with other residents, either the dude or the girl. They also don't talk to each other. It's almost always the guy just sunning himself and the lady sitting next to him, but they don't interact.

 

It could be a narcissistic trait. He is kind of in his own world of pleasure and does not care about the outside world or other people around him, but still wants someone hanging around for some reason.

 

The guys also seem kind of "dull" in a way. They don't have a lot of character or "edge" to them. Kind of like dudes you would just forget about after meeting them, or people you would not bother talking to. It's hard to describe other then they don't flow as 100% normal acting.

 

Your right, it does beg the question why they want a hired partner hanging around and doing the "silent meal" thing if they are not having fun or even talking. It's probably not just for appearances, so it could be a control thing. Somebody who just does or goes where they are told, or conversely, somebody who takes control and leads you by a leash everywhere. Both would be a type of control issue.

 

I'm sure there are some guys like this here. It would be interesting to have comments on what they get out of it, particularly the silent partner thing.

It is a control thing. There is something off about them.

I ended up at a dinner/drinks night and there were 5 farang males there and they were all in relationships with obvious ex hookers.

First appearances they look normal but it had a fake feel. The women were not really there because they liked the male company and the males seemed like friends but also it felt fake friendship like you would have at a work function where you must behave.

The "silent meal" thing is as old as chips, nothing new. One of my odd memories when I first landed here probably 20 years ago.

 

Stephen Leather's Thailand novel "Private Dancer" is a great book if you have not read it yet. It talks about a lot of these strange interactions and why they occur here.

He is narcissistic though. I don't believe he's ever admitted to being wrong or ever apologized for anything. Anytime he fails, it's someone else's fault. The guy also shows zero loyalty while demanding 100% in return. Democrats aren't any better, I'd venture to guess that 90% or more of politicians in general are sociopathic/narcissistic.

It could also be guys who are completely drained of excess energy so they come off as acting a bit strange.

 

When they are paying for a full time escort outings for food and such are usually just breaks between sex sessions. They are banging as much as possible to get their money's worth.

 

So you see guys that are drained of sexual energy and not 100% "there", kind of just tired and loafing around, making them zombie-like, just waiting to hit the bedroom again.
