Nigel Comes to Parliament ,I mean Congress , to talk about Freedom of Speech,

According to the RCP article,Benz  ,"tyrannical hellhole". Nigel ,"At what point did we become North Korea".

I can tell there's a few members on here who have abso-friggin-lutely NO idea about life in North Korea.

I'm getting excited waiting for the first witless invocation of the word STASI.

  • Entirely true, 5 fully armed starmer stormtroopers arrested him for 3 tweets he made in April of this year...have you seen the one about the 11 year old boy being cautioned for wearing a Union Jack...

  • Lie.    All Aviation police are armed in the UK. The fact is he was arrested stepping off a flight - unusually in the UK everyone arrested on the flight side of airports is arrested by armed

  • And the deputy Prime minister, Angela Rayner, has just been caught out dodging tax on a recent 'second home' purchase. £800,000 flat in Hove. Trying to plead that she was given incorrect legal advice.

‘Stormtroopers’ - Calm down, drink less coffee.

How would you describe 5 "police" in kevlar vests and carrying not only sidearms but tactical rifles?...starmers jackboot storm troopers...nothing like a fascist Nazi show of force to detain this "criminal"...free speech is non existent in UK unless you are anti semetic

Farage is a polemicist. Good polemicists deal in half-truths. Others deal in lies.

Farage is in the top 5 influential UK politicians of this century. But the bottom line is - he has failed.

For which we are eternally grateful. Mind you future generations of white entitlement will have a veritable treasure trove of Farageisms to trot out. Badly needed as Powell's witterings no longer resonate or have relevance, if they ever did.

ROFLMAO ...and how you gonna do that? Storm the Houses of Parliament like a proud boy?

Living here, I won't be doing anything but for those that live in UKs green and pleasant land, I am sure Farage will be PM when the Fuheur has resigned...which won't be long

Ever since Jeremy Paxman left Question Time the UK has gone downhill.

I remember what a pleasant land it used to be, well apart from the many beggars and the dreadful food, and the ASBO types.

Airport police in the UK have been mostly armed since 1974. But, having never been there since forever, you wouldn't have a clue about this.

Won't be long before the US begins getting asylum seekers from the UK.

I'm beginning to understand why so many Brits seek refuge in Thailand.

Not as jackbooted storm troopers, maybe a concealed sidearm...you know he isn't even a Brit...imagine how UK looks on the international stage, arresting foreigners at the airport for a tweet...can't you see what this makes the UK like... this will damage tourism and trade, an expensive virtue signalling exercise from the Fuheur

Can you show me these "jackboots" that armed British airport police are wearing? Outside if your mind, there are no stormtroopers, not even in Ukraine where a war is being fought.

As for "maybe a concealed sidearm" when was the last time you passed through a British international airport?

I would describe them as ‘Heathrow Airpot Police’.

I’ll leave it to you to explain your unhinged Nazi suppressing free speech unless it’s antisemitic’.

If Starmer were to resign, the deputy Prime Minister will take over, until Labour elect a new leader.

Farage made one good point which may be the most pertinent. Graham Linehan is not a British citizen. He's actually Irish or a Republic of Ireland citizen.

For a non-British citizen to be arrested in the UK for something he wrote on Twitter / X while in another country will send shivers down the spines of freedom-loving Americans.

For once I agree with Farage!  I suspect heads will role over this, and rightly so.

When are you next travelling through a UK airport?

You can't read? Oh dear. Here's your starter for ten (my emphasis).

"... the self proclaimed patriot trots to Washington to trash the UK and lobby the Trump administration to enact sanctions against the UK, its economy and therefore against the jobs and livelihood of British workers."

Hope this helps.

And yet, they're still better than the previous Tory government/s!

Screw Nigel but hopefully it's the head of the pencil neck who signed-off on this pathetic excuse for an arrest warrant that will roll (but I doubt it will be).

Typical liebour, blame the last government even after over a year in power...they are both as bad as each other...you can't deny labour is full of thieves, racists, fascists, liars, anti semites and fraudsters...I thought we fought a war to stamp out dictators like starmer and his gestapo

Yes. Several specialties under the same "command". But he was met, by the Met.

He was met at the gate by armed airport police from the MPS who subsequently handed him over to officers of the Met. MPS are under the command of the Met but they specifically have "airside" clearance whereas a regular Met officer would not.

Call it an inter-departmental transfer if it makes you happy.

I can and do deny it.  "We" fought a war to defeat fascism so I have faith that we won't move any further right and end up with it anyway!

Point of order required here

A. The word you seek is Führer, and

B. The UK doesn't have one.

First of all it's spelled "Fuhrer' and your exaggeration of matters - comparing airport police to 'jackbooted stormtroopers' for gods sake - is the only 'virtue signaling going on here.

The matter is already being addressed by the powers that be with the head of the Metropolitan Police calling on the government to "change or clarify" the law following the arrest https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1mx09l5297o since under existing legislation - which dictates that a threat to punch someone from a protected group could be an offence - the Mets hands are tied.

I think every sensible person understands the UK's Online Safety Act (which is only 2 years old) was enacted with good intentions (predominately to protect children from harm on the internet) but that loose language and overreach has created issues such as this that are being jumped on by nefarious individuals (Farage being the main culprit) for political gain. To compare the UK to N. Korea is blatantly absurd but it's an effective soundbite and captures the attention of people with an agenda, such as yourself.

People like Health Secretary Wes Streeting has said ministers need to "look at" laws concerning online speech and even Starmer has ordered police to prioritise serious crimes after this arrest but the Met chief has publicly said that police had "been left between a rock and a hard place" when investigating online speech.

In other words, the law needs to be revised and the Met (and other police forces) need to calm the hell down until things are either clarified better or changed completely. This will EVENTUALLY get done but in the meantime....

Who is surprised?

Sir Keir Stalin, sorry I mean Starmer is a tyrant in a suit (paid for by Lord Ali).

Mark my words, after he is gone there will be all kinds of stories leaked about this charlatan and they won't be pleasant.

Corbyn is not a member of the Labour party and neither is Abbott.

The Deputy PM as admitted her tax error, she hasn't lied.  She may well have to resign, once the Ethics Committee make a ruling.

Perhaps you've forgotten the scandals of the Boris Johnson government?!

Nonsense.

It is deliberately vague so that it can be used to silence dissenting voices. Which is exactly what is now happening.

They pretended it was all to "save the kids" in order to justify it.

It needs to go.
