The flights here in  economy must be far too cheap!

Must be. Benidorm was their usual enclave. They'd sit there drinking all day whilst whinging about foreign people.

Now they are here in Pattaya.

Why.  We live in near paradise, great weather, affordable, ladies, good affordable food, enough to keep you entertained.

If you want to fight step in the ring, I know a couple of Muay Thai locations that will use you as a quick warm up and some good laughs.

Why no charges ??  Disorderly behaviour threathening public safety ?    If there are no such consequences then these sort of actions will only be repeated and with the possible result of a member of the public being hurt .  There should at least be a fine .

A taser would be appropriate, with a week in a cell to dry out.

i usually drink soda water when i'm in hua hin...

isn't the drunk man awful, what kind of establishment would serve to much beer around here...

That is part of the problem, bars on Thailand won't stop serving alcohol, even when the person ordering is obviously drunk!

Yet another Brit, behaving like a fool abroad. Nothing new, as they are well known all over the world for their problems handling the booze.

Pathetic! That fool could not beat a tied up person.

What if he is an Aussie as has been reported elsewhere?

A drunken foreigner looking for a fight in Jomtien?

How can it be, so "out of character" for a family resort!

I do regret to say that he is an Englishman. A week or so in "the cooler" and then put on a flight back to England - passport confiscated until he reimburses the UK government for the cost of the flight!

Were this to become standard practice then word would soon get around, and such a plague on my country's reputation would be ended!

Perhaps the most shocking thing is not a tattoo in sight.

Probably his first night here, hasn't had a chance yet to visit a tattoo artist, or start his kick boxing course. Still at the cultural assimilation stage!

Maybe TAT should hire a few more of these guys to entertain the tourists.

I just glanced, and it doesn't appear to be a Thai only occupation...

Pattaya police were forced to intervene late night on 4 September, after a man was seen in the middle of the road, on Jomtien Beach attempting to pick fights with locals and tourists.

According to witnesses, the man, dressed only in shorts, appeared to be intoxicated and was shouting provocations at passers-by before waving his fists in the air. Several visitors reported that he was daring strangers to fight him and had earlier tried to land punches on unsuspecting holidaymakers.

Tourists quickly alerted nearby officers, who moved in to prevent the situation from escalating further. The man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, resisted briefly before being giving up and was escorted to a waiting patrol vehicle.

Police later confirmed that he was taken to the station and held overnight in a cell. Officials dryly described his accommodation as a “special programme — free room with iron bars,.”

Authorities said no-one were injured during the incident, though several reported feeling threatened by the man’s aggressive behaviour. Police have pledged to maintain a strong presence in the area to ensure the safety of visitors.

The man is expected to be released after sobering up but could face charges if further complaints are lodged.

Stupid behaviour by a drunk.

On another point, he was driven away on the rear of a police pick-up. I always understood that it's illegal to drive a pick-up while transporting people on the rear deck. Do the police arrest themselves when they do this?

Do these people leave their brains at the airport?

In his case, doubtful he had any on arrival.

So many articles carp on about damaging “Pattaya’s family friendly image” and yet they allow a person who directly threatens tourist to remain in the country. Go figure.
