A violent clash between two rival youth gangs in Pattaya's Khao Talo area on September 15 has left local residents alarmed and seeking reassurance. The incident occurred around 2am near the Khao Talo Market, resulting in an outbreak of violence involving weapons and small explosives. Video footage showed dozens of teenagers on motorbikes, evidently gathering to confront one another over an ongoing dispute.

 

Earlier, a confrontation took place around midnight, but the situation escalated when the groups returned armed. Kla, a 30-year-old witness, noted that the initial argument had dissipated, only for the gangs to reassemble with weapons. The turmoil that ensued involved knives and makeshift arms, along with loud explosions that disturbed the neighbourhood.

 

Despite the intensity of the clash, it remains unclear if there were any injuries, as the gangs dispersed before police could intervene. Officers from Nong Prue Police Station arrived to find the area deserted. Although multiple disturbance reports were filed, no official complaints have been lodged yet. Authorities are now analyzing footage and urging witnesses to come forward.

 

The incident has heightened concern in the Khao Talo community, with residents fearing a potential escalation of violence if not addressed promptly. Many locals, including long-time residents, have expressed apprehension about teenagers' safety at night. Police officials have pledged to enhance their patrols and are actively pursuing those responsible for the disturbance, aiming to prevent future occurrences.

See Gaixare report two above; an excellent report of year long violence, most of which has gone unnoticed by Pattaya's invisible police.  Now they are going to increase patrols (sometime in the next decade?)

Isn't it obvious. The police have no clue how to end this ongoing problem. It is only getting worse. Teens have become a scourge to Pattaya in the evenings. Parents must be held accountable, which will never happen. They need to have a curfew for teens in Pattaya to end the violence and destruction. But that also will not happen and even if it did there are not enough police to enforce it nightly. Something must be done though.

These bored kids need a large vacant block where they can take up the wonderful sport of Jousting.

Just you, your bike and a long bamboo pole with a sharp or blunt end (depends on how serious you are).

Chains and blades are also permitted.

Think how much revenue could be made, it could be a bigger hit than a 24-hour kebab shop, catering for school kids, night shift workers, and anyone else with a desire to maim or be maimed.

The last figure I heard there were 650 BIB's in Pattaya, isn't there any night shift and if there is it's probably under manned. If they catch these thugs take them up the round and give them a real going over. Then when they recover it should be 12 months in the nick with men not boys.
