September 17, 2025Sep 17 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s pursuit of a clean-shaven military took its latest step Monday when the Pentagon announced that troops who require medical shaving waivers for longer than a year will face involuntary separation, according to an official memo... In March, the Marine Corps ordered Marines diagnosed with pseudofolliculitis barbae, which leads to unwanted bumps and painful ingrown hair from frequent shaving, to undergo medical reevaluation within 90 days to determine whether they still required a waiver... About 60% of Black men are affected by the condition, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2025/09/15/troops-with-medical-shaving-waivers-to-face-separation-hegseth-says/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_mt&fbclid=IwY2xjawM2_ndleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETF3VWxKdDJZekROVHk1bXM0AR5U7jiiWYGPHgr1fkmMcIBUwzseuxQKc8yrLJpTkug4lrGM5L9S0Nn3ZL-VRQ_aem_ubqYYpDRaLaLcyZyXkNtmA The article goes on to say that this policy is designed to ensure "maximum warfighting readiness". I read the article and it made no reference to the racism at all. Facial hair affects the seal on your respirator, but dont let the truth get in the way of a good story. People like you are exactly what the problem is.......
September 17, 2025Sep 17 Popular Post Misleading title or plain lie? The claim that the Department of Defense under Pete Hegseth is waging a "war on Black soldiers" through the September 2025 shaving waiver policy is unfounded and ignores its race-neutral focus on military readiness and uniformity. The policy limits medical shaving waivers (primarily for pseudofolliculitis barbae, or PFB) to 12 months with required treatment plans, applying to all service members regardless of race.

Worked on a drilling rig where H2S were present so respirators carried with small bottles. Before drilling started everyone had to be clean shaven. Many guys went 'sick' to save their beards.

The part I quoted notes that this condition affects 60% of black men. Just like the department of war, I didn't mention racism either.

I'll tell you what, why dont you edit/ask the mods the edit your sensationalist misleading title and actually quote the one from the article? Troops with medical shaving waivers to face separation, Hegseth says. Then let AN members decide if war has been declared on 'black soldiers?' Dare you........

No it does not target black soldiers. It is a standing order that has been part of many military forces for quite some time, irrespective of race and colour. Whether that makes it racism or not is up for the reader to decide. It's not racism, as it does not target black soldiers. If having a beard means men and women and others cannot properly wear a facial protective device, they become non-deployable. Why this is still permitted for religious waivers is ludictrous.

But the fact of the matter is that the topic is not me but the Department of War Declares War on Black Soldiers. Feel free to start a topic about the fascinating character that certainly am in the appropriate forum. But thank you for showing such an interest.

September 17, 2025Sep 17 Do soldiers buy their own shaving equipment of is it supplied? Soldiers with PFB could use electric razors. Apparently.

Service members requiring prescription glasses are issued eyeglass inserts to enable fitness to fight while donning PPE.

And they'd know REAL men are designated 11C1P. These are the guys that jump out of planes under fire with an 80-pound mortar base plate strapped to their chest along with their 80-pounds of personal gear strapped to their feet.

Actually wearing a beard CAN affect military readiness. If the gas mask does not fit properly due to facial hair. it and the soldier are among the first casualties in any nuclear, chemical or biological warfare. That is common sense 101; However I doubt if Hegseth has even thought about that. BTW in a real war NO god will save you, no matter how much you pray.
