You have to be quite a muppet to assume that expats cannot afford air-conditioned restaurants. Who comes up with such garbage?

Yes, we can use Big-CX which has very good aircon and free chilled drinking water!!!!!

  • Please stop it. Your topics are infantile and you have no intention of coming back to Pattaya. Every post makes the expats here cringe as you have no idea of what is going on, nor do you have any cred

You said on Thursday that you were back in Australia. But you say you were at a Pattaya bar last night. You do it on purpose you silly billy.

I certainly wouldn't be accepting advice from the workplace gossip    You gossiping on every work colleagues,no need for dobbing others in   "Boss boss I saw Johnny take 5 minutes

No, the smart ones live in Pattaya and the ones that can't see they are being ripped off live in Phuket.  Eg.  Pattaya baht buses v Phuket tuktuks.

Phuket costs peanuts compared to the UK, I do not see any rip off.

Plus I know I can not buy a Rolls Royce for the price of Toyota, that is the same comparison with the dump that Pattaya is compared to a much better standard in Phuket.

Maybe your a rich one who did nothing but "take" from the system during your working life which was probably on taxpayers expense ,cushy pen pusher who called in sick every Monday morning

The other half who can't afford such luxurious life maybe on frozen pensions from the UK or on aussie old age pensioners living in Thailand on a fixed income

My heart bleeds for them.

What about the others like me who were born poor, got off our arses, pursued an education, worked hard, took risks by setting up a business and became wealthy in the end on our own merit only to to be told when visiting my place of origin it is all right for me, I was lucky I have what I have as though it was handed to me on a plate.

There are those who work hard and succeed and there are those who expect things to be handed to them on a plate.

I thought the "broke dick ones" live in Pattaya and the ones with money live in Phuket and mix their time with tourist areas and their local bars and restaurants.

You keep thinking that.

Why would a restaurant call themselves Chocolate Factory if it has nothing to do with chocolate?

Weird name.

Because that indicates the origins of the shop...  Just like the Cheesecake Factory restaurants...

The Chocolate Factory began in Khao Yai as a café and restaurant built around chocolate desserts and gifts, and they chose the “Factory” name to suggest that they make their own chocolate (which they do, at least partly) - the place evolved into a cafe.

The Cheesecake Factory started in the US in the 1970s as a bakery that really did make cheesecakes. When it expanded into restaurants, it kept the name because it already had recognition and charm. Thailand’s locations are franchises or licensed branches of that same American brand.

I suspect the 'Factory' part of the name Chocolate Factory is a borrow from The Cheesecake Factory - but that wasn't really your question... "why chocolate ?"...    ultimately, because thats how it all started in Khao Yai...   Homemade Chocolate gifts.

Quite a claim from a cushy mop pusher paid for by the taxpayer, milking Medicare as much as possible.

What are the toilets like there?

I remember going to that Issaan Concert place last visit on third Rd with another farang and his GF

The first thing I did was check the cleanliness of the toilets , I was disappointed and went to a staff member to ask for the manager

Finally after 20 minutes I spoke to a Duty manager who arranged the cleaning

The couple I went with left after I complained leaving me with the bill unfortunately

I never even got to drink my sprite as I was trying to find who was in charge , meanwhile the couple I went with left !!

No you didn't, you really didn't.
