Looking for a house in Hua Hin for 6 months

Featured Replies

I had something lined up, but that fell through at the very last minute. Let’s just say that that ‘friend’ is not my friend anymore….

Anyway, I’m in Hua Hin until the end of March, and looking for a place to stay. The agents/agencies that I spoke to don’t do anything less than at least a one-year lease.

My budget is around 15,000 baht/month max. A one or two bedroom house in a (somewhat) quiet neighborhood would be good. Has to be furnished. Doesn’t have to be close to the beach, or close to the town center, maximum 10-15 kilometers out. Preferably as soon as possible.

If anyone knows something, or has any suggestions, I’d be very grateful.

Thanks!

You will be lucky to find anything decent in a "good" area under Baht 15,000 per month at this time of the year.

I have a Thai friend with a couple of apartments for rent maybe around that price — one opposite Sea Pines Golf Course in Khao Takiab, and another within walking distance of Blueport, both with pools.

You might be leaving it a bit late, though.

If interested I can give you his details — drop me a DM.

Sorry to ask, I’ve never been to HH, is it a good place to spend a few months for a single bloke under 50? 15K  sounds quite reasonable; I always thought HH was a bit posh for Thailand, so I assumed it’d be pricier than other spots. Can’t seem to find a decent place in Chiang Mai for that, and definitely not in Pattaya or Bangkok.

Up in soi 102 it used to be around 20k and up, but it was a dump. Better go for an appartment either condochain with everything in walking distance, or up in Condo 88 where you get 15k appartments easily with a 6 month contract.

Six months..........that's a long time to be looking for a house......there must be something.

Well, depends what you expect? What I have seen of the red light districts there, it is not especially tempting. Quite a few nice massages ladies, and freelancers observed, but I have only stayed in Hua Hin with a gf/wife.

The best bachelor scene I have been to, was Patong hands down, but that was back in the days, and not even then a place for budget bachelors.

Thanks. I spend quite a bit of time in Patong, though, to be honest, I’m not much of a fan anymore; used to be fun, and Kata during surf season. Don’t have a problem with Russians, actually; I’ve got some mates who like to party and are friendly despite their reputation, same in Pattaya.

I reckon it’d be nice to be escape the north during the smoky season, just to chill out, run, that sort of thing. I don’t get involved in the usual fun anymore 😟 , drinking, smoking, partying, bar girls, so most places that used to be a laugh just seem pretty normal these days

Hua HiN is great for healthy lifestyle, gym, beach and hill walks, food, and just exist. There is many non service girls who looking for bf, so ? Used to be a great mountain tracks and down hill tracks, not sure anyone who maintain them anymore.

A few sports bars,

Many fishing ladies even at the condominiums who have sponsors.

The elderly bar women will make you celibate so you can abstain from bonking and save your money inHH

There's one for 8,000 baht with gym and pool. Just go inland.

Can you be a little more specific? ‘Just go inland’ covers quite a few (hundred) square kilometers.

Inland to the Myanmar border?

I would avoid Hua Hin as there is overcharging all around, prices are much much more expensive then many other interesting beach towns in Thailand, the girls in the bars are not all that hot but charge as if they were, and from almost everything to nothing, the foreigner gets overcharged or sometimes scammed.

Thanks for the advice, but my girlfriend lives and works here, so I kind of have to live here as well if I want to be with her.
I have no interest in bargirls, and I’m not aware of any overcharging. In fact, I lucked out and found a house for 4,000 baht per month.

Fully agree with you. In Hua Hin or many other popular places in Thailand,  you have a Thai partner then it goes fine to some extent. But as soon as they see a foreigner around, the price doubles instantly,  mainly in affaires related to construction, home or condo repairs etc...inflated quotes, unqualified labour and of course the crappy cheap material they use despite charging you for the upgrade stuff.  Happens even in those so called "award winning developpments" in Hin Lek Fai where foreigners are often overcharged.

I cannot but agree - I rent in one of those luxury developments; rusting metal fixtures in the bathroom, China-made pool pumps that regularly malfunction, leaking roof, cracks in brick walls, gaps in windows due to non-fitting parts, corners not square, etc., etc., etc.

Hua Hin has some of the cheapest rooms in the country

Do you mean the prison rooms?

I mean hotels with pools. 400 baht gets a gym as well. Amazing you live there but don't know this. Ive never seen a 400 baht room with gym n pool in any other city.

Old thread, OP probably found one already. For others ...

Not sure about 400, but < 600 w/pool
