Since Trump, the right’s shift from conservatism to performative extremism
has turned outrage into a political currency.

The more unhinged the rhetoric,
the more airtime and donations it attracts.
It’s not about ideology anymore — it’s about spectacle.

To distract from his corruption,
Caesar gave Rome the Colosseum with panem et circenses.
Trump gave MAGA Fox and gladiators.

And we all know how that went for Rome.

Rome going left is what got them

We shouldnt rush to politicize and try making politcal gain from tragedies. Have some decency for once☹️

  • It's not a Right-Left issue.  There is violence happening on both sides of the political spectrum instigated by individuals who aren't quite normal citizens and are radicalized.

Yep, Nero was definitively anti-fascist/antifa!😆

Well, he was violent, and he was right-wing (a Kirk fan) and he was a killer....🙂

So the title is absolutely accurate.

And while he did not directly link the murder to the fact that she made fun at Kirk's murder, he posted a video on the same day, before the murder, in which he claims he's been harassing her because of that. His own words! So it's not a certainty, but it's not an extravagant suspicion.

I'll grant you it is tasteless if some few people--a fringe element---actually does put a killer's face on t-shirts, etc., but you must also say when TV talking heads makes jokes about hammers and Speaker Pelosi's husband was viciously beaten by a MAGA, that, too, is tasteless.

What stands alone, and likely always will, is the disgrace of Trump calling his goobers to DC for 6 January, and then telling them to march to the Capitol, where they beat 140 cops and searched for the Vice President to hang him on a gallows they set up. You know Trump intended the violence, unless you think he is so stupid that "How could anyone have known?" is his excuse. It was a pro forma exercise (certifying the election) and the Constitutional duty of the VP. Trump undoubtedly hoped he could put an end to democracy and remain in power, because he could not accept being a loser.

Then, the far right make a hero and martyr out of the terrorist Babbit, when she got what she deserved for attacking the house of our elected officials. "Typical tourist" she was not. The final outrage---and proof Trump really doesn't care about law enforcement or rule of law---Trump pardoned the very terrorists who beat cops and wanted to hang the VP.

That the left has to lie incessantly only proves the weakness of their/your position.

And more and more people are getting wise to how dishonest the left is, which was made clear in the last election.

What's Angela Davis doing these days?

Or how about Bill Ayers?

The left makes heroes of their terrorists.

So

you want to stop brainwashing

or

support it.?

Thanks for the comment, as what I wrote was not clear.

"******Perhaps it is worth mentioning that a violent left winger tried to kill a right wing politician, very recently as it was...

Oh well, not a good idea. Would support the idea of brainwashing..."****

I meant that 'mentioning a narrative of violent left winger tried to kill a right wing politician', would thus appear to support the idea of some brainwashing.

But as we are all brainwashed, I did write before that some brainwashing is better than others. But I did not mention it again here, as this is the hearth of the problem. The polarization of ideologies, so a brainwashing of one narrative, that some people like, and a brainwashing of the contrary, as some people would dislike. So the left and the right. Which side is right then, as our beliefs of one or the other is the result of brainwashing.

I met a Jewish family at Immigration, and I raised the subject of Israel and Gaza.

As he asked me what I thought about it, during a short hesitation for me to answer, he started to say 'It is complicated', and I quickly answered that this was not the question.

I told him that I was a Canadian, and in Canada, we are brainwashed to be nice to people. Not for all, but Canadians have a reputation in this domain.

And I went on saying that many Arab Palestinians teach their kid to hate...

And so I brought up some historical facts about Canada. The 18th century fortress of Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island.

The on-going fight between the French and the English settlers.

And then peace was achieved, creating the Upper Canada, and Lower Canada. The land was shared, and peace was achieved.

And nobody in Canada would suggest to hide bombs for many years, to retaliate for fights endured for a few centuries.

No such mental process happened, because hate was never part of the upbringing of children, in both parts and culture in Canada.

We just decided to live peacefully.

The acts of other part of the world are not based on cultural facts, they are based on 'hatred'.

I recently watched Thomas Friedman speak on Bill Maher 3 Oct and this made SO MUCH SENSE! I paraphrase here:

Take two completely identical cell phones, side by side.

The first one you do a Google search on yoga mats. Bam! You must be a leftie.

The second one you do a Google search on trucks. Bam! You must be a rightie.

From that day forward, the algorythms created by those who want us divided will send completely different feeds to your phones.

We are being played. These killings are not right-left, they are perpetrated by sick individuals. This problem will most likely never be fixed, too many people are dug in and can't handle a shift in paradigm.

No outrage here.  It does sadden me but making this more political than is already is seems counter productive.  People enjoy hating here on this forum and others while killing young girls. I don't hate anyone at the moment so I'll just do my thing and let others do their hating.

I had some outrageous beliefs recently and in a moment of sanity searched out the counter arguments and clicked on them and followed the other counter arguments to what I thought was the truth.  Now I'm comepletely confused 🙂

It's not just this forum. That evil Zuckerberg admitted the algorythms created by his Facebook minions generate hate and that hate was good for profits. We all want the same basic things out of life - food, shelter, boom boom - and if we ever got serious about coming together and making compromise, that would hurt the military industrial complex, Facebook, etc.

It is in the best interest of the ruling class to keep us divided and at each others' throats.

I can only think of one person in my life I can honestly say I hated,

I hate the left, but I do not hate anyone on it.

If you want more of any behavior, the best way is to celebrate it.  Tik Tok challenges proved that.  People do Darwin level stoopidity when they see others celebrating it.

Yeah, one of the many many right wing riots in the US the past few years. Just like the other riot, the one in.....   uh.... nevermind.

Whereas left wing riots are a nightly occurence in many cities- Portland, Chicago, etc.

Correct, because the far right is inherently much more violent than the far left.
