Mr. Tran should see a dentist without delay. He has serious dental hygiene issues. The decay and destruction of his tooth at the gumline is evident.

Not much of an assault by the looks of it.

Maybe this American just couldn't hack it here.

Maybe he did it to himself.

Another nail but not the end for the sink-hole of Pattaya

The deeper it sinks, the more Indians and ladyboys flock to sin city.

And what became of the phone?  Maybe can ID the attacker or license plate from the pre-assault vid.

If the bike had a license plate

Jeez mike, you must have a lot of nails to do that.

Millions go there

It would have been more accurate to say 'thousands come here.'

I had something like this happen to me on Soi Buakhau. A taxi guy hit me from the rear while I was walking. No sorry or anything, no stopping to see if I was injured. Just a smile and a shrug and drove off. No other taxi guys around coming to help or telling the guy to stop or anything like that.

I was not hurt because he was going so slow, but if I was he would probably have just driven off.

It was in daylight btw with people around, not in the early hours when everyone but the bad guys are sleeping. If you like the samaritan thing with people getting involved or stepping in to help out Thailand may not be for you.

Hope they catch the P.O.S. quickly.

Hit and run, with assault.

How very Thai. :coffee1:

Big coffin though mike.

Yuge.

They can’t help themselves over there, it is always about the money which he was never going to get in Thailand.

He should have just apologized for walking on the road.

.

Thais sue just as much as Americans. The difference is they settle at the local cop shop without the lawyers getting 40%, and the amount is much less than in the States.

And, in case you have not noticed, everything in this world is about money.

Pattaya has experienced a significant surge in tourist numbers, with over 18 million visitors recorded from January to August 2025,

Never been there but from a YouTube clip it doesn't look like a walking street but a street with quite a bit of traffic. Might pay more attention where you are walking.

I feel sorry for the young girls, finish school, graduate from University and what... not much chance of employment... head to a resort and sell yourself.

Nice work government..

Finnish high school cannot afford Uni yes... head to a resort

Those who do go to Uni end up part-timing in the industry to fund it, before graduating and finding out no real employment is available and go full-time servicing

Maybe the motorbike was driving on the sidewalk? Not unheard of here.

Well here someone gets a good percentage too making up for lawyer costs.

At least you got a smile.I usually get an angry look, saying something like get out of my way, or I run you over farang khee nok.

It was a Thai condescending smile, not a western smile.

Yet another farcical "another nail in the coffin" comment hat's been bandies about for decades about a tourist industry that's a million miles away from dying.

From what I have read there seems to be an assumed consensus that the motorcyclist was Thai.

Why?

Can't imagine...

"...when an American tourist was allegedly attacked by a Thai motorcyclist".
