Many of these dogs I heard are stolen from the owner

Most dogs littering the streets of Pattaya don't have owners.  Those that do couldn't care less if their pet bites children; runs wild causing accidents; defecates anywhere & everywhere!  (Many of the owners still wear masks to show how much they care about health & hygiene.)

China and Korea maybe.

There was a large pack of stray dogs hanging out on a piece of land just off the Thepprasit road. Then one day, they all just disappeared. I doubt that they went on holiday.

Probably went with many others  as live food for the Crocodile Farms around Pattaya

Most Dogs littering the Streets, along with their Thai owner,  are put there by people  who no longer want  them for various reasons...it says a lot about their so called Budda teachings

As many of you know I do plan on visiting Vietnam next year

However I was in tears 😭last night when a work colleague Informed me  "they eat dogs there George !

I immediately called him a liar and told him to stay away from me

When I got home late last night I looked at videos on YouTube and he was right and apparently it's the same with Cambodia !

Watching these videos of these poor defenceless creatures as they are stacked in with barely enough room squashed in  a cage crying is so cruel , ready to be slaughtered by being smashed over the head  with a hammer

i need to put a stop to this cruelty

Is Vietnam and Cambodia the only countries to EAT DOGS ?

I know Thailand banned this

Saw them butchering a dog in the street in China. Also saw people buying half a live fish with the other half thrown back in the tank. I was eating with Chinese friends who were sniggering, asked them what about, turns out we were eating cat stomach. All countries are different.

The misconception about eating dog in Thailand and specifically in Sakhon Nakhon province, is hat it was the Vietnamese settlers that ate dog not the Thais. My wife remembers pickups driving through her village looking for people to 'sell' dogs. The going rate was 1 dog for 1 bucket in return.

But you must be aware that that happen in US too. Donnie told us. Therefore it must be true.

I admit I haven't been feeling well since I got back from Thailand especially all the PTSD I suffered , hearing about this dog tragedy made it much worse

I still recovering over the violent  assault in Lopburi back in March where police were ineffective

It really is a crying shame the world allows this tragedy of dog cruelty

Stop being so dramatic, it doesn't look good.

First off the police are not going to arrest a monkey for being a monkey. If you are too ignorant to not play with them its on you.

If you are so thin skinned to get PTSD (doubtful)  over hearing about dogs being eaten in Asia then don't come here.

I guess we shouldnt tell you about eating the brains from a living monkey as it will completely put you into a catatonic state.

Pull up your panties and man up or stay home.

I dont eat dog, monkey, car, guinea pig, farmed seafood (knowingly), mae daeng, pla ra, prohok, puu, bugs, frog, bat, stinky head, those disgusting Icelandic fish dishes etc. I cant control other folks tummies.

Plenty of Thais still eating dog - albeit more surreptitiously than before.

15 Years ago in my village - many were eating dog blatently - you could buy a decent sized dog for 200 baht back then.

Some were eating the dogs they had raised themselves, as pets .

They referred to it as, "Meat from heaven".

They should realise dogs have many uses for humans apart from being faithful pets.

Guide dogs for the blind

Police dogs

Sniffer dogs at airports

Dogs trained to find dead bodies.or people trapped in collapsed buildings.

Most people on here couldn't care less about the cruelty animals suffer to get onto their plates and into their mouths. To them as long as it tastes good that's all that matters. Disgusting and selfish, but that's the way it is with most of humanity.

this day and age, hows the slaughter of pigs/cows/chickens......

Is it humane or ?

for me, care factor is zero, love me some flesh on the plate.

Growing up, loved belting a cow between  they eyes with a  round from my 30-06.. dragging it back to the house behind the tractor then slinging from a tree branch to bleed out before carving it up and loading the freezer.

Humankind really doesn't deserve a future, certainly hasn't earned it.

Actually Americans are welcomed there. All the people we encountered were friendly and helpful. The Vietnam War was quite a few years ago, and only the ignorant hold grudges against any country because of the actions of some. If that were the case, I could bring up some of the horrors England did to Americans. Scots and the Irish, but again, since that's in the past when maniacs were in charge, it isn't important now.Maybe you forgot what the VC did to their own people there.

War is war - but they do rightly refer to it as 'The American War'.

In your case highly believable.

Was it Japan that places the live monkey under the table with just the head poking through... cut of the skull and eat the brains ?

Heard about that when I lived in Pattaya in the 60s.

If I had my life to live over again I would have been a vegetarian.
