Opinion: No Kings Day - Insurrection Anyone?

"Tomorrow, Saturday, October 18, you might have heard, is this year’s culminating “No Kings” protest demo all over the land. We’ve been to a couple of these curious spectacles since springtime here in the Hudson River Valley, in the next town over. The crowd there was just about entirely made up of aging Boomers, joyfully re-living the halcyon days of the Vietnam protests. It was kind of like a street production of the old Broadway hit Hair, only with a cast of 75-year-olds. Let the sun shine in! But this rural, small-town corner of America is overwhelmingly geriatric. There is next to nothing for young people to do around here, so they flee at the earliest opportunity. The catch is: turns out that opportunity is rather scarce elsewhere, too."

"Tomorrow’s “No Kings” action is apt to be a bit livelier in the crisp fall weather, at least in the cities where the under-employed, debt-oppressed, hormonally-driven younger gen folk gravitate into organized cadres more prone to physically acting-out their discontents — groups like Antifa. The street action lately in places like Portland, Oregon, Chicago, and Los Angeles has gotten quite a bit rowdier since last spring."

Protests work. People are swayed but what they see and that translates into votes.

Racist. Your comment is clearly racist.

Perhaps you missed it, but in the last No Kings rally, more than 5 million real Americans took to the street...peacefully.

They did not, for example, attack the US Capitol, search for the Vice President to hang him, or beat and bear spray 140 cops.

So let me get this straight: a bunch of retired hippies waving cardboard signs and singing “Let the Sunshine In” are somehow one Molotov cocktail away from an insurrection—but an armed mob storming the U.S. Capitol to overturn an election was just “tourists taking selfies”?  Seriously? 🤦

The guy is describing a Woodstock-themed nostalgia walk, not the Bolshevik Revolution. “No Kings” literally means they don’t want a wannabe dictator running the show. That’s not rebellion, it’s civics.

And the pearl-clutching over “under-employed, debt-oppressed younger gen folk” is rich. Maybe if the system these right-wing sages defend wasn’t crushing them with student debt and $20/hour rent, they wouldn’t be “acting out their discontent.”

In short: this isn’t an insurrection. It’s the sound of democracy creaking back to life after being held hostage by people who think freedom means worshiping billionaires and banning books.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. 🙏

No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.

On October 18, millions of us are rising again to show the world: America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people.

Oh, you are implying only blacks loot, and I'm the racist.

The leftist punks on the upper east side are the antifa members that will spark the riots.

No kings protests in the US is a bit oxymoronic given that there is no king ruling over the US to keep these wingnuts from protesting, and if there was a king ruling then such a protest wouldn’t be allowed.

Looks like there is going to be a huge turnout all across America. YT take a look its a bit more than California and the upper east side.

Typical leftist racist nonsense. Using race as a tool to defend your worthless disposition, where nothing about anything racial was remotely implied by the one you responded to.

For some of them, there just isn't enough racism around , what else can they do but invent or imagine it.

At least this time they're not disrespecting the US Army like last time. So have at it, enjoy yourselves.

This is promising.😄

Presidents aren't Kings!

Kings aren't Presidents, if they we're they'd send the army in to Hang everyone who spoke treason or acted in defiance... Here we are, at the crossroads of its a Republic if we can keep it. 10 years of Communist /Socialist/Leftist /Democrat  supporters protests.

There’s no king ruling in the US or is there any inkling that there may be one. Snap out of the silly delusional misery you choose to be in.

The far left members of the  dem party of Social justice warriors  have dog whistle Resistance & revolt all summer long.  They would love to see another violent chaotic protest, there is a 10 year  history of  it.  GOP speaker calls it the "Hate America Rally" performed by the dems & their supporters.

Peaceful protest and dem democracy is like comparing  good vs evil!  Woke culture initiatives lack common sense. Hate America Rally.

Belive it or not, protesting against Queens and Kings are in Europe no problem.

Free speach (without any repression or consequences) - maybe you remember… In the US that was once a normal thing.

Today in Thailand, October 18, 2025, I celebrated almost nine months of Trump winning. The left wing zealots are working themselves into a tizzy with their hate. But they need to pace themselves because President Trump has still more than three years left in his term to yet win even bigger. King for the day and for the rest of his term.
